I am 3 events into it so far here in Phoenix. Car handles great, but needs a better turning radius...those extended tie rods are my next mod.

There are a couple of 350's out here that do drift events. We have one each month at Firebird raceway in Phx.

here is the story of my carbon doors, and a story of why you don't spin out in front of people.

here is a silly video of the san antonio drift event, i'm driving the body kitted silver z again.

so yes some of us do drift.

Why did you remove the front bumper? BTW, I am starting on drifting now and took third in my first event! Apparently, the 350z is a great car for drifting. It was the most balanced, best OEM suspension and nice motor to do it. Most of us newcomers in Z were drifting it hard by mid day.

How are you guys compressing the videos? I have some 3-4 MB videos to post but limit is 70-80kb.

those pics are at a road course outside of baton rouge, louisiana, and i live in san antonio, texas. so i trailered my car. well, my car is way too low with too much bumper to fit on the trailer easily. to top it off, my trailer straps also pass by where the bumper resides, so its a pain to take. i leave it at home alot.

this pic is really cool because you can see my lingering smoke on the track as i go around. most people have big clouds of smoke around their car after they spin, not while actually driving lol.

in the short future as z prices fall quickly, you are going to see a huge influx of them as drift cars. i predict you will see more at drift events in a few years ( if drifting lasts that long lol ) than 240s. they simply made soooo many of them, and continue to make them. plus, base model 350z's cost about the same as s14s did at the end of their run. oh, and base 350z's have such better suspensions, motors, setups here than our 240s ever did. they drift great right out of the box.

because out of all the members on this site, there are probably 15 or so that actually bring their cars to drift events, maybe a little more that bring their cars to road courses.

Thumbs up

..ill be the first to say im still learning how to get drifting down to a science.... but thats because i dont get the road time i woud like to get in. If i could practice at least one weekend a month i would be happy but funds dont allow that right now so im in the streets doing things im not supposed to do!... but hey... you get it in when u can right?

..lord knows i beat the hell outta my Z on the roads..its a beast true an true.

Theres no passenger seat... a 7 point cage, TN single turbo set up w/ emanage & custom intake manifold with a single 3 inch exhaust equaling a whole lotta fun!!!

Anyone know who is giving classes on drifting to get D1 certified? Theres the question of the day!

you dont take classes to get a d1 license, you get good enough to meet their standards, and then dont choke during a license qualifying.
