Default Hydro E-Brake

I know there are problems with a Hydro E-brake plumbed in line, But How do I go about doing it since there are 2 lines goin to the rear brakes, and not 1 line that t's off as 240's do?

there are two lines that go from the master to the passenger side wheel well, but then they T together and run to the back and split again. so underneath the car there is 1 line that runs to the back...

honestly, if your driving a G or a Z and your drifting.. theres no need for e-braking to extend or initiate a drift. the car has plenty of torque; even as a stock motor with no upgrades.

if you dont have to change your e-brake, then dont do it unless your doing it for completely seperate reasons.

Im not new to drifting...I have a Single Turbo Z so im deffinately not using it extend a drift, I need it for getting shallow angle and to attack a complex corner at my home racetrack....I plumbed the ebrake between the master cylinder and the ABS unit..this works.

I see 2 brake lines running to the back and two coming from the abs unit, labeled RR and RL...I looked and it doesnt T in the passanger wheelwell

i use my e-brake for many reasons, and not because of a "lack of torque"...

ohh yeah, now that i think about it, i was confused, its a 2-IN / 2-OUT piece stock. on my car i have a T there in place of the stock piece

I was looking for some pics with the Hydrolic Brake instead of the factory E-brake.

We ended up deleting the ABS and got the whole thing sorted to make the brake bias work well. If pictures are needed PM me or email to blake@brailleauto.com

Also - check the k-sport for your hydro ebrake needs.

I was checking out the K-sport hydro e-brake. Does the ABS have to be deleted for that? If so, then I'll just stick to removing the spring off the stock E-brake to use for drifting.

Default hYDRO EBRAKE SET UP.

Hi,

I'm also attempting to install a set up like this as well. the pictures attached are a from a friend of mines car. I talked with the installer and what he did was plumb in-line with the two lines going to rear of the Z out of the abs unit.

First he had to switch the lines coming out of the abs unit because the abs has whats called cross tire braking so he had to switch the lines coming out of it to only the rears. SO ABS must be completely disabled.... wont work as computer thinks when the lines are physically switched coming out of the abs block.

then he tapped in-line with the rear and mounted a wilwood foot brake. inverted and the silly handle is from an aluminum racing jack configured to be mounted on.

He mounted an aluminum L-angle bracket behind the carpet bolted directly to the passenger side tranny tunnel of the car....lots of room behind there...

im probably going to do this and mount on the drivers side and use a removable -not so big - handle. Then use a cotter pin of some sort to keep me from accidently hitting the lever at the foot petal assy accidently.

if i was going through this much work to add one, i'd just add an extra set of calipers, custom bracket and call it a day. this way the handle doesnt mess with the pedal pressure when they are both applied.

no need for tech inspections on this dedicated drift car.....but besides in Texas there are many mom and pop shops that will inspect anything.....ive been to multiple shops where they just ask for your insurance card and fill out paper work...pay and dont even walk out to so much as honk the horn...

I've heard how it is over in CA though....bummer....

indeed. especially after all the wrecks.

but i dont only drift my car, i take them to road courses, and i know if they see somehting t-ing into the factory lines like that, it would make them look twice. im sure they'd let you pass 90% of the time, but i'd rather make something like a dedicated caliper for this-a la rhys millen gto and solstice stuff.
