Default 06+ steering angle

Alright guys, by now we've figured out 06+ Z's wont work with the tie rod spacers method. my question is, will an 06+ steering rack work with a KPR style kit. anyone tried it? input is much appreciated as there is a new angle kit coming out that is the same style.

I got an 03 bro.

But I need that hella angle jam. These tie rod/spacers suck. Like having stock S-chassis angle if that.

Ktran is running tie rod spacers and shaved bump stops (same as me). Got measured along with the other Texas dudes and it measures to pretty much the closest thing to knuckles.

The KPR and PBM kits are pretty much just ridiculous lol. I still need to find the limits of the shaved stops and spacers, once I have it down I'll move on to something more serious.

Thats exactly why tie rod spacers suck. You are seriously handicapped at competition level if you don't have all the weapons in your arsenal.

Its great for weekend driving or whatever, but at least for me, it isn't cutting it. I've had it happen a few times last season where I would be following a 240 with knuckles and I would have to throw my car to the threshold which usually resulted in what I like to call a dead spin (where your car doesn't actually spin, but you can't get it to straighten until you slow down and regain some grip).

It also makes me a lot less comfortable with my initiations and transitions knowing that my angle is so limited. Its easy to commit to a crazy entry or a super fast transition if you know you have angle "in reserve".

Yeah that makes sense. I'm curious to see what the KPR or PBM kits measure at. From the looks of it they provide more angle than s-chassis's with modded knuckles.

Nackers I agree with you 100% and i think at some point i am going to be looking for a little more angle for sure, but for now the tein tie rods and spacers with shave bump stops are doing me pretty good. I am nowhere near close to your level but hopefully by the time i get there i'll get my angle upgraded and couple other stuff.

Hahaha, my level.

Thats funny. My level as of right now is a car in a million pieces with round 2 of the series going on as I type.

My level sucks. Just like spacers.

And the KPR kit was 63* angle if I remember right. 240's with knuckles get around 58*

It seems that the Max kit will be slightly less but just around 60* and the contact patch is supposed to be a lot flatter in comparison to the KPR kit which loaded up on camber at lock.

Stillen is on the shop owner/mechanic's G35 sedan:

http://fatlace.com/cars/slammedsocie...up-your-sedan/

I had to build my engine cause at Irwindale my car developed a slight rod knock. Not bad for a engine that had over 155k on it.... 70k of which was almost all beat on drifting hard miles.

But the turbonetics single turbo kit I bought 2 years ago is finally going on. It was supposed to go on the car originally but since my motor was so old and worn, the compression numbers weren't great. Hell, it barely survived the S/C for a season so I'm sure it would have blown up half way through last year. .020 bore, eagle rods, je pistons, uprev and some other goodies are making their way together. Hopefully I'll get to start breaking it in next weekend with a 4k limiter on it then get it tuned properly in the following week.

I'll be doing a whole deal on my website about it when its done. Since it is basically impossible for me to get a pro license this year I'm gonna take it easy. Try to keep involved heavily with the MDU crew as a judge/track advisor and try to hit up a couple other events, but I'm currently in the housing market so my driving is bound to be limited this year.

^^Ohh ok. i see whats ups. Glad you are getting it all taken care of and hopefully the new built motor holds up good. Hopefully you got something in the works for turbonetics heat issue as well with their kits.

Hopefully i can build my engine to handle 550hp next year safely and just drift it around 450-500. Right now i am running on my own tune but hopefully soon i'll get a proper tune going...

And yeah man fill the website out with bunch of pics and info. will be nice to check it all out!

Without going any further offtopic, I cut out the secondary firewall and plan to space the hood in the rear. If it needs more, I'll start hacking away at the hood and run duct work from the front to the bay.

looks like the steering rack is not going to be the issue we all thought it would. spacers and removed stops worked as well as possible until a real kit is here.
