I agree with MAX G, PBM are worth it for that price. I have stance looking in to buying them. A lot of 240 drift with these and their damping is amazing. Good coils.

I have friends with PSM's (the originals) and they all say they are a little on the stiff side for dailying but they handle amazing. And by stiff they mean more of just a solid feel, not bouncy or sloppy. Don't know anyone with the new pro's though. I've heard the dampening has been improved and they aren't as stiff feeling as the previous models while managing to handle better.

whats the deal with max pro's swift springs? fortune has them along with helper spring for 1500 too
and i believe BR ER and stance GR+ pro has helper springs too (not swift...difference?)


i found their spring rates for Z33 at 10/12 KG, the rear is stiffer than front? how does that affect the car performance in terms of drifts and street runs? i do a bit of spirited street driving taking hard corners

i'm pretty sure you got it backwards. 12k front, 10k rear. imo, that's the perfect spring rate for the z. i run 12/8k and bumping the rear up to 10k seems like it would be much better to me.

swift springs aren't the same as helper springs. swift is a brand. helper springs are a type of spring. swift springs are progressive springs, which will ride much better.

fortune and pbm are the same price and both have swift springs, but the fortune coilovers don't nearly have as much time put into r&d as the pbm coilovers do.

usually. i know for a fact that all those other spring rates in that thread are flipped so the spring rates for the z are 12k front, 10k rear. idk why dan wrote them backwards.

From my experience coilovers with helper springs are generally a waste of money (vs the non helper spring version). Ride isn't as smooth and the handling advantages aren't enough to justify it.

The D2 would be better than the BC coilovers and alot better than stance. Their D2 Drift series coilovers are fine tuned for drifting. Not talking about the RS version but the D2 Racing. D2 even gives you a 3 year warranty and are rebuildable in the united states.

Not to mention, since the D2 Drift Specs have to be custom built, you can build them with any rate you want.

Here is some more info on the newly designed D2 Drift Coilovers... which are far better than pro Max in my opion:


-To enjoy the real drifting to the extreme, this is an excellent coilover which is
different than the only ride height adjustable coilover.

-All McPherson suspensions offer mono and inverted tube design (φ55mm). It can
bear the sideway aggressive movement and strong gravity when drifting.

- There are some certain rear dampers should come with helper springs to operate
the sideway aggressive, ground the rear inner tire, and against with ground when
drifting.

- All McPherson coilovers come with pillowball upper mount with camber plate. It
adjusts the camber of the tire and get the tires have better turn and enhance the

^ I was just commenting on the D2 details that you posted, not all of it applies to a 350z (ie the camber and caster adjustment from the top mount).

I have fortune 500's right now and they are amazing! I dont know why people talk **** about d2's... I had them on my evo and loved them
