Yes, definitely post your budget if possible. One of our associates here has a drift car and his wheels get pretty beat up at events... He has about eight different wheels that he can use at any time.

exactly, cheaper is better. Especially if just starting out.

Yeah. In stock form, 18inch it on up. Used tires are your friend. The good news is, that stock, these will drift just fine. But, before you go wheel whoring, post up a budget cuz you wanna get your suspension in order first.

After practices , partices and more practices .. You should consider getting some good looking wheels for drifiting event. Something which is not too pricey, you can look into VMR wheels, they cost under $1000 and has great offset and width for the Z

I ordered all of mine off ebay, really cheap! I now have 3 full sets and 1 half of a set. One of those sets are mustang wheels, and the rest are stock Z.

Honestly it doesn't really matter what wheels, a huge part of drifting is all about style. Lighter wheels are better in terms of performance, but you can literally use whatever. Whatever is cheap and whatever you think looks good! A lot of people in here have given some great insight into particular brands and such that are good. Another great idea since you're just starting out is to hop on craigslist and find some more OEM 350z wheels and just get a few of those. Cheap, solid wheels.

I personally run Rota Grid's for my drift spares, and I love them. If you want the best bang-for-buck in terms of performance, Enkei RPF-1's all day long.

Stick with either 17's or 18's, as people have said. All of my grids are 18x9.5 +20.

Tire wise, if you're at stock power DE motor I wouldn't go much past 245 in terms of tire width. My friend ran 225's at an event this weekend with his stock Z and it felt like it was on rails, was super fun. I run 245's with full bolt ons and a tune, and 245's feel absolutely perfect. In terms of type of tire, since you're starting out just get whatever is cheaper, even used tires until you get use to drifting.. After that move up to new tires, in which case I usually run Federal 595's which are cheap, long lasting, and pretty consistent. I've heard a lot of good things about Achilles as well which are slightly cheaper than Federal's, and this last event I ran Kumho Ecsta's for the first time and they were pretty damn solid. They started to wear super fast though, but during competition the set lasted forever because they were getting to cool down a lot.

If you have any other questions feel free to PM me. Since you're in Texas you should also check out Fabricated Motorsports, they run a lot of the local drift events and you can learn a whole lot on the forums.

And since no one else has said it yet because you're a girl, next time be sure to search first, because there have been quite a few other threads covering this exact same thing.

What he said ^ If you drift at Aarons events you can also use their sponsor which is Kenda tires. You get some pretty good discounts and everyone loves the quality. They say they grip well and they last long.
