Default 3.5 VLSD Pumpkin w/ axles

I'm looking for a 3.5 VLSD Pumpkin in good working condition that I could bolt right in to my 04 base. I almost bought one off the forums here but was a second too slow and someone snatched it up. Anyways let me know what you have and mileage. I can offer $300 shipped. Last pumpkin I almost got it for $275 shipped. Price is negotiable based on condition. Thanks!

EDIT: I'll offer $400 shipped on a vlsd in good condition and 50k miles or less. Let me know what you got!

O that sounds good but I actually picked up a pumpkin with a Cusco 2way lsd preinstalled today. The mechanic said it hadn't even been broken in yet. So good steal for me I guess =)

Just got my Cusco LSD in today. Man that thing is noisey. Have to break it in. Pops and hops like crazy. Hopefully it calms down a bit after break in.

if it makes noise from the start, it will always make noise.

Well I guess I'm back on the hunt! People let me know if you have a complete manual vlsd pumpkin and the mileage/condition. Looking to buy quickly! =)

No I did not. It is still on the car. It hasn't even gone through its break in period yet. I've read that it gets smoother over time but still remains noisy. I've already read a review about the Cusco RS series LSD being quiet. What the heck were they smokin'?

Anyways, I'll give it a try for another few weeks if I can bare with it. If not then I'll probably swap it out for a vlsd and call it a day.

Driving around a parking lot yesterday, the car goes clunk clunk POP and my wife goes "OMG what the hell was that?!". She doesn't know about the new addition...

the clunk/pop could also be from the axles from installation

Personally, I looked at the Cusco, but read about the noise, so I ended up getting a Quaife. No noise whatsoever from it. Good luck OP.

Hmmm...very interesting. I added some friction modifier in there today, about 1oz and it made the pop and clunks less violent but still there. I guess I'll have to double check it all later. I plan on opening it up to adjust the locking % down to 60% or something.

How much did you get the quaife for? did you install it yourself? i still have my original open diff pumpkin. perhaps i'll install a quaife in there and go that route.

I got the Quaife for about $1100. Got it from a performance shop back in NC, when I went home after my deployment.

I paid a shop to do the install, as I didn't have time because of work, otherwise I would have done it myself.

Completely a drop in thing in the Open Diff. No additional parts or anything needed. Don't even have to change the gear oil to a different type. Can use the same one.

Honestly, I think it's the best upgrade I've made. Car feels completely different. You can tell it gets power to the ground so much more efficiently, with no noise or wheel hop.

im actually experincing the same thing.. i here clunking noise everytime im about to park and as soon as you push in the clutch since there is no load it on the axles it just pops and noise is definetly coming from stub axles and diff..

i have 1.5 carbonetic diff (carbon)and when i installed it i never had this noise or clunking.. what i do know is that after the last drift event i started experiecing this crazy clunck.. i sent the diff back to carbonetic and they mentioned that everything is in perfect condition. i also switch the carrier bearings and when placing the stub axle on if you grap each stub axles there play while rotating back and forth... what im guessing is its most likely the stub axles need to be replaced becuase the teeth look a little worn out IMO and right by the c clip.

has any heard of that being worn out or could they wear out?

i know for sure its not my hub bearing either....

I had a Cusco RS diff and it popped and clunked a lot. I took it apart and checked it and it was at 60% 1.5 way which surprised me for I was pretty sure it was at 80 or 100. When I put it back together again I restacked it so only the fresh side of the clutches were exposed and it got worse. So it I guess it does help to break it in and use it some but still was too much. I ended up selling the Cusco RS for it just wasn't what my brother and I were looking for and we are going to look into a Quaife instead.

Cool thanks for the info. It's a bit much for my wife and I too as a daily driver. I'm planning to sell or trade it for a vlsd for now. I plan on keeping my open diff pumpkin if I ever go with a quaife.

Anyone have a good condition 3.5 vlsd pumpkin they would like to trade for my practically new cusco rs200 LSD w/ full pumpkin? I can do a trade +$800 on your end. Local preferred but shipping is an option. Thanks
