Default Engine make tick/knock/rattle noise when cold?

Hi,

New owner of a 06Z, ran some searches and didn't find what I am looking for, so any help will be greatly appreciated!

It gets a bit cold in Ontario lately and I noticed some ticking/knocking/rattling (not sure how to describe) noise coming from the engine area after I started it up. Only happens when the car sits for a long time in cold weather. Sounds fine at idle, noise only comes in when I get it some gas. The car sounds fine after it is warmed up. Is this normal?

Thanks!

Did you check your engine oil? And what weight are you using?

I check my oil level awhile ago and it looks fine, let me check that again today...... Brand new car, so it got whatever oil that comes from the factory.

In fact, I start to think it might not be the cold weather, but the fact that the car sat for a few days before I start it up. Maybe not enough oil in certain part of the engine? So nobody experience something simliar?
