Hi, After many years of dreaming of a 280 then a 300 I am a proud new owner of a 2004 350z convertible. It is from the US and only has 6k miles on it.
It came with 17in rims and Bridgestone potenza tires. 225/R50 on the front and 235/50R on the rears.
I know a guy at work that is willing to swap for 18`s with RE40`s 225/45WR18 on the front and 245/45WR18 on the rear. His also have about 5K on them.
Is this a good swap and would the 18`s add weight, will the ride be harder with the 18`s, besides looks is there any other advantage to get the 18`s.
thx
Dave

basically it's all for looks, if you're using OEM rims. you'll get a tiny bit more traction with 245's in the rear, and marginal sidewall stiffness compared to the 17s.
wheels are still gonna be sunk in tho, so you'd probably want to get spacers as well to push the wheels out.

Thanks Noodleman,
Looks are always Good.
Where can i get spacers good spacers at a good price and are there different sizes?
Will i have to be concerned of stones hitting the fender with spacers?

I can get you spacers. I just recently closed a group buy for them. However, I can squeeze you in since I'm not finished collecting deposits...

XuperXero
I put my order in to your group buy thanks
Reality350
I appreciate the offer on the 20 and 25mm but think i will just go with the 15's for now and see how that looks.
I checked out the 18 inch tires and rims today. I'm torn on what to do. I think i like the slighly different color tone and style of the 17's i have but i like the lower profile tires. Another buddy at work has a Z roadster with the 18's so i will try to make a decision when i check his out.

smasher, did you see the pics xuperxero posted on the group buy? that's exactly what wheels would look like with 20 & 25mm spacers...cause that's Reality350z's car in the pic haha. Trust us, 20 & 25 is the way to go. Plus at 25mm in the rear, it's a heck of alot easier to install (no stud replacement required).
