Default 10-12K to spend what to buy?

I've read some posts but there's so many, say i have 10-12k to spend to increase the performance of my stock 2004 roadster this fall or (over the winter mths).

What should i get and can you recomended some good shops to either buy or install or both?

Goal is more speed than handling since i dont plan on taking it to the track at this point.

Is a TT possible? I read I would or at least should get a built eng or risk blowing it up.

Any thoughts would be helpfull since im a total novice on this tuner stuff.

thx

when you say you want "more speed" i'm assuming you want to improve your 1/4 mile figure for drag racing, since you don't plan on taking it to the track. just keep in mind that the 350z wasn't designed for 1/4 mile racing and in order to turn it into a 1/4 mile monster, you'll need to dump A LOT of money into the car, definately not a "bang-for-buck" drag car.

but, if you are interested in improving your lap times for grip events or drift, 10-12k can definitely get you setup so that you'll see improvements in the corners as well as exterior mods for "bling" value that some z owners (such as noodleman) subscribe to

with 12k you can get a full TT setup thats safe for daily driving i'd suspect. Atleast in US dollars and in the USA. Idk where furgus is lol

^umm, it maybe that cheap for our "south of the border" brothers, but here in canada it will cost you over well $20k to go TT... and thats without a quality ecu...

OP, if FI is your flavour I would recommend going SC, unless you want to save another $10k then you could possibly get into a tt setup.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the comments guys,
For you Southern folks Fergus is a beautiful small town about 1 hour out of Toronto Ontario Canada Eh!.

The Dollar exchange is only .08 diff right now so it's a good time to buy parts from the US and thus it shouldnt be that much diff to add stuff.

Do we have any shops here in the GTA that can make some recomendations?

Yes 1/4 mile 0-60 was my goal. Don't plan on challenging a Z06 (unless of course its in my budget) but would like to be able to beat a mustang GT and not worry about those tunned up Hondas if the challenge arrises.

Don't know what else i would add in the looks catagory bought this car because I liked the stock look so much already. Got an leather orange shift **** to match my seats though and sounds like i will be getting 18'' wheels and spacers. Maybe Orange Brembo callapers?

If TT can't be done safely and right for the budget right now what else to get the best bang for the buck and still be able to add a TT late if the buget increases?

thx again

Hey man,

Dollar exchange is very good right now, and you may be able to source out some good deals (still cost you at least $12-$15k for say, the APS kit) on TT kits. But its always the lack of experienced tuner shops in Canada that will be the biggest cost factor in your budget.

I would suggest speaking with tuner shops like JRP (Stavs) as they are pretty much the largest dealer of aftermarket accessories in Canada, or you can call up Speedstar (Albert) whos a great source for all things JDM or try Intense Motorsports in barrie ..

I have heard many great things about these shops in particular, but its always best to find out for yourself which shops you would prefer dealing with.

As far as modding with FI in your sights..
I would maybe suggest a plenum spacer, suspension (quality coil overs), definitely a sweet set of volks & tires and a nice TD exhaust (at least 2.5).
All that together may cost you 12k..

IIRC, you wont have to replace these mods once you go FI, so it may be beneficial to purchase them now... Because we all know how much that mod bug itches...

Good luck man,

Hope to see you out at the meets.

with 10k i wouldnt necessarily say you can build your motor and go turbo you will need closer to 20k but you can get a TT setup (Greddy) a UTEC and be ok on ur daily driver. Just make sure u get tuned for low boost

you can barely buy a tt kit with everything else you need to make it perform like it should for 12k. do a single turbo kit and do all of the other essentials.
