Wow Mike thats nuts 600/month!! ouch

SO I went back on the TD website last night, went into my account, didnt change a thing, pressed recalculate and another quote got back to me with "$67.67 / month* or $812.00 / year" I kind of laughed about it, talked with my buddy he said I probably changed something, which I didnt.

He also told me when he called TD he ended up paying exactly what he was quoted online... Imagine that $812/yr lol that would be sweet.

thats almost what Mike pays monthly LMAO

Thats Insane! Like over $20 Grand a year before tax.

You could just about hire someone to be your Private (Edit) "HOT" Chauffeur for that kind of coin.

Just as a comparison...
In BC I pay $165/month = $1980/yr for "business use" ... and that is with a 35% "safe driver" discount -- I'm without an accident for over 15 years.

damon75 may I ask you a few questions..

Are you over 30?
Do you have multiple vehicles insured with them?
Do you also home and life coverage, through RBC?
Yes to all....

Is insurance in BC Government run?

Yes, we only have one car insurance Company in BC -- for the basic coverage.
For the extra coverage we can go to other insurance companies, which can be cheaper but in my experience has been more hassle -- If you have an accident you have to deal with both companies.
Some of the pros and cons of having one company are:
1. More insurees = lower premiums
2. Driving record info is more easily shared between police, insur. co., and gov. = Bad drivers cannot get insur. and can have driver license suspended. Good or bad depending on you.
3. We cannot avoid paying Prov Tax since it is paid to insurance co. at time of insuring vehicle.

I am with State Farm (like staying with the big names for insurance - more likely to stand behind the claim) but several policies (other cars and house etc.) and a 15 year track record with them....that said I am paying $1250 a year.

^^ state farm seems the most unforgiving insurance company out there UNLESS you are a long-time client with a lengthy track record. for young drivers or new drivers, they'll drop you at any chance they'll get or skyrocket your rates to a point where you'll choose to drop yourself.

i've been with allstate in the past and currently covered by the cooperators. made a non-fault claim about 2 years ago and they were nothing less than perfect in customer service/response time/ease of interaction. they may not be the cheapest insurance company around, but very competitive in rates and provide (so far) outstanding customer service.

i heard td meloche monnex to be one of the top discount (big business) insurance companies offering very very cheap rates. just don't declare any mods or receive any serious moving violations. they're also notorious in being **** retentive at the first sign of trouble/deviant behaviour.

QFT, this is actually what happened to me. $1800/yr to $7400/year. Dropped their policy. Never going back
