New exhaust is on. Sounds pretty good at wot, and at 5% throttle its dead quiet. All other times its retarded loud and awful to drive.

Need track time.

what is this backlash...i saw this mentioned when i was doing a lil research on forums about installing my 2 way (which i did a few weeks ago) but i read all i had to do was put the shims (rings?) exactly back the way they were and thats all. these write ups were by people with same lsd and diff case. its all bolted back together and feels normal when i turn the shafts. educate me on backlash

backlash is the tiny amount of wiggle room the ring gear has with the pinion.

So with the drive shaft stationary with correct backlash, the ring gear should be able to wiggle 0.10 to 0.15 mm, which is a very small amount.

hmm so if it was to great it would kick i guess harder. now is this something you have to check with every aftermarket lsd? i feel most people dont bother from just reading diy's...i dunno like i have a spare diff and it seems to have a tiny bit more backlash then the one i just put together. and that one has never been touched. but i mean thats just me trying to tell "by touch" so i dunno lol.

No idea, I bought mine already installed and just swapped pumkins. Pretty sure Sash was the one to originally install it. Are you putting it in yourself?

Randomher0 installed his own Cusco in his garage, you should PM him.

I had my diff installed and according to the guy it was within
Spec with the stock shims. But because of the SPL solid bushing I was
getting a terrible noise from the diff @ 90-110 km.
So I had my diff re shimmed tighter which makes it quiet, but run hotter temps.
That's the relationship between the two. Tighter = quieter and heat
Loose = noise and lower temps.
Id get it installed properly. I didn't want to waste my $3000 I spent!!!!

I lost cruise control today....

Install was surprisingly easy, took about 5mins. Its a nice feel, I like it. Its about 2in smaller than stock so turning is slightly heavier, but not bad.

Not really. The car is not driven much, and I probably put just as many miles on the car wearing a full face helmet on the track. Not to mention front airbags are only effective in severe front impacts, which are pretty unlikely on my 0km commute, or the 3km I drive to the store. While wearing my CG-lock, in a race seat.

^ You're also pretty tall so the steering wheel maybe less of a threat.

ok so stock backlash = 0.004 inches or .1016 mm.

= within spec just barely.

So back to work like a real mechanic.

New seat in. Had a mount fabricated to use the stock mount locations so I can go back to OEM seat still if I wanted.

Seat is pretty comfortable, and gave me a good inch or two more of headroom (which I really needed, as my helmet rubbed the roof). You do feel more, 'connected' when driving. Meaning, I feel every crack in the road right through my teeth. So my car becomes more awful to drive. woot.

Rob , congrats on the new seat .

I guess we both been looking for a seat !
I went to see a bunch of different seats this after-noon ,, I first wanted the OMP TRS but after seating in it , I wanted to try another one
the Champ was goood ! but ended up to choose the Sparco Circuit Plus !
its twice the price of the TRS but I love it !

I should have the new floor mount from Sparco at the end of March then the seat will be in !!
