A lot of people hate on the 260's and 280's, but honestly, they look the freakin same. I guess I could see the point if you're buying it as a collector, since it's not the original Z car, but if you're buying it to cruise around on weekends... you're not gonna notice the difference.
I just kinda assumed you had another car though, definitely don't get one as your daily

finding a 240z that doesnt need some sort of body or frame restoration is next to impossible unless you want to pay a heafty price, and thats the crap I do NOT want to do again.. the crap I went through with my 240.. frame repair/welding...floor repair.. too much body work to mention.. painting the thing.. forget it, that was the first and last time I did all that crap lol

well yeah if you end up buying a used turbo and its missing key ingredients like the turbine, management, injectors etc, then you would be paying much more.. pretty horrible buyer if you ask me.
Many guys sell complete kits, maybe a few clamps, hangers I would imagine missing. Nothing that will cost huge amounts of $$

I was just reading through wiki, and other than the optional 2+2, the cars seem to be the same externally, with the 260 having the stiffer chassis, and crappier carbs on the early models.
