I use Meguiars Gold Class car wash on everything. I think any dedicated car wash of decent quality will do on the wheels as well as the body.
I use 1 bucket, but I empty it and rinse it out often to get rid of any grit that may be lurking at the bottom. I rinse all the mitts and chamois at the same time. Grit elimination is the key to long term success.

Once everything is dry, and the brake oxidation is off the brakes ( one or two stops in the street) I put the Volks back on. It's not super hard to do, and gives long lasting clean looks.
I think it actually saves time. Change all 4 wheels in 45 mins. Makes washing your Volks super easy and effective.

dude, i get lazy to clean my rims with rim cleaner let alone taking rims off and putting them back on
