Allright UECT, I need your advice again. I'm assuming most of you work, so I'm also assuming most of you go on vacation. I'm planning to go around February. Is this a bad time? It can't be any earlier, since that's when my entitlement kicks in, so I can only go later.
The problem is, as usual, I want more out of my money than I should be able to get
I want to spend maybe 1500 absolute max when all is said and done. The other thing about it is, I don't want to go to some lame nap on a resort all week dealy. It is freakin boring. Ideally, I'd like to avoid the Caribbean alltogether, but I realize I may not be able to afford a vacation elsewhere.
Ideally, I would love to go to Europe or Asia, I don't mind showing up somewhere without any hotel reservations and the like, as long as it is relatively easy to find some cheap hostel or something like that.
So yea, I'm interested in cool deals, and money saving tips for vacationing in nice places. I'm also not adverse to doing the last minute thing, if it works fairly well.

Thanks UECT! =)

you're going to have a really hard time going on a vacation to asia with 1500 max budget. assuming you can get tickets for 1000 bucks round trip to china somewhere that leaves you 500 bucks to spend

i think you can count europe out too because it'll cost a lot as well once you get there.

maybe do a road trip somewhere to the states?

or if you're into snowboard/skiing do a trip out to BC.. you should be able to do it for $1500 for a week+.

Eeh, I kinda hate this continent to be honest. Would definitely like to avoid spending it in the US/CA.
The only self planned/paid for vacation I've ever gone was to a resort in Cuba, and all I know, is that I don't want to repeat it, it was lame as hell.
I keep hearing about people backpacking around places, and visiting countries on a really small budget, so the Top Gear fan in me thought "How hard could it be?"
Have any of you ever done something like that?

i think 1500 for a eurotrip might be tight... i guess it depends how long and how many places you want to go to.

$1500 will not get you to europe/asia unless you're planning to live on the streets and not eat.

Hmm.. ghey caribbean it is then. I want to go around Feb, because that's as soon as my vacation entitlement starts, and I haven't been on vacation since... 06? So it's kinda overdue. As for the budget, it cannot go up at all, I'm getting a bike in the spring, and the bike is by far the top priority right now. If I somehow got a ton of money and had enough for bike, plus enough for a good vacation, I'd still take a cheap vacation, and get coilovers for the G
I'm not the type of person that could ever drop a lot of money on vacation, unless I literally had tons of it, and already had a house, several supercars, bikes, etc..

you should just take time off work to shop for bikes/coilovers. Saves you even more money.
