thats all he does is trails, well most of the time he'll ride his bike to the trail so there is some road I guess, but mostly trails. This is his full suspension bike aswell but the good thing about this one is that theres some sort of lock for the rear shock, so you can lock it up and it acts as a hard tail.

Just curious, as I'm not a bicycle guy, what would be the disadvantage to having a rear shock when street riding?

for the street its actually a disadvantage, im no pro but I think a hart tail delivers better power from your legs than does a rear shock.
