Anyone of you ordered the update disc for you navi???
I was directed to www.zenrin.com to order the disc and realized it was 190 a piece... thats crazy, anyone know another source I can get the update disc??

Can that disc be used on more then one vehicle? If so lets get a group of guys together, I would like to get mine updated as well..

 

If you are still under new vehicle warranty, you are entitled to 1 update disc during the time of your warranty directly from Zenrin.

If your warranty is up, this post has been a big waste of time for you

Either way, they can be used on more than one vehicle. So if someone is willing to share the wealth, please do so.

What is this update?? The disc stays in the player the whole time while in use as far as I know so how would you share it?

 

They regularly update their navigation maps because well, maps need to be updated.

What everyone was hinting at is that someone can make copies for others. Yes it sounds "bad", but when a company wants $200 for a DVD, they deserve it

 

The updates give you more road map coverage...
I dont think we are able to share it as I thought....Since it takes 4 weeks for the god damn company to ship out a DVD..i believe each copy is genuine with its unique ID to the GPS.....I might be terribly wrong tho..

 

Nope, there was a guy on these forums before selling copies of the latest version. There's no protection when making copies or while using them.

Uh, kinda off topic. But I just bought one of these on sale. $125 off at the source. Voice activated, blue tooth, make calls, traffic updates optional, a bunch of other crap I don't know about.... and oh yeah, I can put it in more than one car. But I'm pretty happy with it. I think the stock DVD nav was kind of retarded at a $1200 option? plus $190 updates? :S
