Default Rebates from Canadian dealers ?

Has anyone heard of dealers offering rebates on new 350Z's ? One local guy tells me that at his dealership, they are offering $7,000. I've never seen rebates advertised (not that they always do) and it seems like that's their last gasp at trying to land a sale. Otherwise, if they land a sucker at full price, they presumably quietly keep it for themselves. And then there are the sales types that throw those things out after you made a deal elsewhere.

Actually I heard a lot of dealers are doing this on New cars, the old owner of my business bought 2 cars lately, a nice Lexus which they took off roughly $8K off of asking price, and he bought his daughter a G6 I think which they took off another $7K, I told him I have never heard of such negotiations

$8k!
He must have purchased the LS 460 series.. My father was looking into a Lexus and they said $8k rebate, but only on the most expensive models...

I was looking in to a 07 GT last week. A dealer just north of Toronto Ontario (where iam) offered me $7000 off and then $9000 off, plus a finance rate of 3.9

So the 08s are around $49,500 with a 5.9 %

The left over 07s are around $40,500 with a 3.9

he told me $42,700 something with pdi and other fees, you just have to add tax to that.. He just offered the $9000 of, after i mentioned how much cheaper they were in the US but im sure you could get them down a bit lower.
