Thumbs down Gas Prices this summer = FTL

pretty much every analyst keeping tabs on the oil industry is predicting gas prices to soar this summer, potentially upward to $1.40/L this is absolutely outrageous and is going to put a HUGE dent in my wallet

just thought i'd put it into perspective:
350z fuel tank size: 76L
price of sunoco ultra 94 (+14 cents above regular price) = potentially $1.54/L

price per fill up = $117.04

when my z's tune was off, i was averaging around 450 km's (mix of city + hwy) per FULL TANK, when it was tuned with max. hp and perfect climate, i was averaging around 400 km's for a FULL TANK

if i drove my z daily (to and from work and occasional cruising), i average around 400-450 km's per week, so monthly spending in JUST gas expenses for me would be almost $500

that is absolutely ridiculous i think i'm going to drive my honda to our regular CG meets and only bring the z out for "special" occasions

Yea, I have been keeping my eye on the predictions and thats lower then what I have read.. I read that $1.50 will be the avg..

Considering that Canada is a Net Exporter of petrol, this is absolutely unacceptable.

I love canada, I truly do.. but we are being taxed to death, TOO DEATH!..

If they removed most of the taxes (not all), we would be paying about $0.60/L.

I really hope the analysts are wrong......

there's no question that gas prices will rise it's just a matter of by how much, and relying on our gov't to reduce gas taxes is like hoping to win the lottery

I’ve read some of the gas mileage posts and guys are posting ~450 miles which = 724.2048 kilometers which would be great, so how are you getting such poor mileage?

as for the price, yeah its getting pretty ridiculous $1.50 is gonna hurt bad not for my future Z but for my 100km commute to work every day.

looks like its time to raise my $$/hr rate.

i'm not sure how people are getting 724 km's on a full tank, even when my z was completely stock i was only getting at best 550-600 on a full tank. MAYBE if you were ONLY doing hwy km's and only giving it 1/10 throttle could you get 724 km's ... or maybe it's our location relative to others in terms of sea level.

in that case, that doesn't give a good measurement of regular use, unless you only do hwy driving 100% of the time and your house is right beside the hwy

i generally get 550-600km per full tank. I fill at 3/4 and it's around 400-450km.

My trip meter tells me i'm getting roughly 11.2L/100km.

yeah lol

so 500km on an average lets say.. my Z is only gonna be like my fun car, but still the cost @ 1.50 is going to limit my fun time spent in my Z..

To bad nothing ever happend to that fix rate they wanted to make yr back, at 0.95cents/ litre or whatever it was

11.2 isnt that bad of an average seeing the type of car you drive, my dad does 8ish/100km in our CTS.

that sounds about right, when my z was stock, my consumption metre was telling me 10 L/100km hwy and 12.5 L/100 km city, you do a lot more hwy driving than i did previously, so your averaging around 11.

at least i'm done paying off the Z, so the gas prices won't hurt as much. Ahhh, the good old days of 49.0 was expensive
