Default Looking to buy one of there hoods.....

03-06 Nissan 350Z VT Carbon Fiber Hood by Seibon

or

03-07 Nissan 350Z Invader 3 Carbon Fiber Hood by VIS

If anyone knows where to get one, or if you own a shop and can order one in, I will pay to have you install it as well.

Would like to know the cost, how long it would take to get. Or if anyone knows who sells one.

Thanks!

Locally JRP (Johnson Reasearch Performance) www.jrponline.com sells Seibon.

That's where I got mine at a really good price when they had midnight madness on last year.

-JRP stocks seibon, but you wont be able to get it installed at their shop.

-Speedstar can def. order it in for you and they can/will install for you.

Those are the only two shops I can think of, atm..

Maybe purchase from JRP, and have SS install

I mentioned this before but the good thing about getting local is you don't have to worry about shipping damage you can inspect right on the spot before you take it home or to the shop of your choice.

Just wish we had a wider range to choose from here in GTA.

Thanks guys, I know about speedstar, just scared to call them, everything seems so expensive from them. But I will give both shops noted above a call in a bit.

Which hood do you guys think is better?

I had a Seibon hood for my RSX. In regards to RSX's Seibon is better quality/fitment than VIS. Is that the same when it comes to the Z?

from the reviews i've read so far, that seems to be true. Seibon is still hit/miss sometimes though.

Ya mine was in that same price range, depends a little on what version you pick. The std OEM style CF was less. it took about 3 weeks for mine as well but they did have some styles in stk when I was looking.

My local body shop charged I think ARO 180 with the Tein hood dampers installed.

Were you ripped off by SS? If not, I think your general statement is unfair.

For the record, I have never been "ripped off" in my dealings at SS.
The very first day I walked in, I was treated fairly and told straight up, what items and services would cost.

Unfortunately, items imported from Japan do cost much more then your avg USDM or replica parts. Those who want the authentic item, usually dont mind paying a couple $$$ more, and you get the convenience & security of purchasing from a local shop.

No i haven't bought anything from them because there prices are way too much.... i tried buying things from them such as bumpers and rotors and even SS brake lines and all there prices were at least 50% more that any other place.... Im not trying to be an ***, im just letting people know the way i feel.
For instance i called them the other day for brake lines (i believe it was bridgestone or goodyear one of those they tell me $300) i ended up getting it for $200 in my hands......

Technically, you didnt get ripped off, as you did not make a purchase.

But if you got the same lines, BNIB for $100 less, then you got a solid deal. I see them in the marketplace selling for around $140-$175....

Which local shop did you get them from?

Edit: thats $140-$175 used/maybe new.. Then you would have to tack on shipping, and possibly deal with some brokerage fee's. This would easily total more then $200.. So you def got a good deal.

SS has always given me fair prices for my parts. I doubt you'll find deals at SS, but at the same time they generally don't try to rip you off.
