Default has anyone changed their imported Z US gauges to CND?

Hey

I am looking to import or buy an imported 350Z. I don’t like that I will have to read the speed in miles and would like to change it.

I have read that you can do a complete swap of all gauges including the 3 small gauges above the middle console for around $1000.

I was thinking that I would buy a CND overlay for the speedo gauge and replace it. Has anyone done this? Here is the link to Black cat customs, they make both US and CND replacement overlays.

http://www.blackcatcustom.ca/Nissan%20350Z.htm

I have removed the needles and overlay in my Cavalier and replaced with an aftermarket one before but not on a 350. How difficult is it?

i thought that it was mandatory to convert the gauges (one of many things) on a properly imported car?

mine is in MPH with KMH in small. It is a little annoying but its just one of those things if it falls in my lap ill change it. Would be nice but not on a hunt for it. And as long as KMH is there ur dont need to change it. Not too big of a fan of messing with the needles though.. Im a believer it never responds the same even with the 'needle removing tool' For legality, It's only daytime running lights which is manditory but conviently that just happened to find its way to the garbage can I dont know how exactly :P

No, I didn't change the gauges because KPH are in small numbers underneath the MPH numbers. I think personally it would be a waste of money; all you need to remember are the key speeds e.g. 100KPH, 60KPH etc... .

If you are willing to shell out those money, might as well get a Nismo gauge...
