OK, so Dave recently dropped off my "stock" parts since he picked them up for me.
The thing was they weren't my parts at all. They were from an '06 silverstone Z. The '06 front is totally effed. My 03 front had a clear bra. The rear isn't mine. I had a small notch in it from when I accidently ran over a piece of wood. The rear they gave me was partially sanded across the bottom portion like it was being prepped for a half kit. The side skirts were deeply gouged. I took pics of all my parts before I dropped off my Z.
I called them up on it. Tim apologized. My parts are gone. Someone else has some pristine 03 parts for their '06. I'm sincerely dissapointed by this. I don't want any parts but my own for my Z should I ever want to go back to stock.
He offered to repaint and recondition the parts. But, I'm still out several hundred to transport the parts from London to Markham. And I'm stuck with an 06 front for my '03 Z. Really unacceptable in my opinion. But he said he will not get me new parts. I can see why. They're expensive, and I'm just one customer.

WOW that's messed up... I'll be sure to stay away from Velocity after hearing that story. Can't they look at previous job orders to see who they may have gave your parts to?
Hope you can get this resolved Mike. I know I'd be extremely pissed.

Veloctiy is ftl!
as much as i can understand that mistakes can happen when shops get really busy (hey, we're all human and fallible), when these type of mistakes do happen it's up to the shop to resolve it to the customer's satisfaction ASAP, and that really shows the true colours of a shop and how dedicated they are to the customer.
prior to this incident, i've mentioned to several members that i didn't see what the big deal was with velocity. most of the previous work they've done was average to sub-par IMO, and although they sounded like a bargain alternative to shops that charge a premium in bodywork (but do a great job), it sounds more and more that when you take your z to velocity, you "get what you paid for."
i'm really disappointed as well (not to your extent of course mike), but i was going to take ced's v2 kit there after we raped his car for parts. but your experience has definitely made me not consider velocity for my v2 (or any future business).

I never really like Velocity anyways i took my 02 rsx there to get my ings body kit on. and when i got it back i wasn't happy with any of the work they did. there was overspray everywhere. i asked them to pop out a dent on the fender which was not done. and the kit was not prepped as it should have been.
after all that i never went back to them again no matter how many z or g owners refered me to them

i've gotten a quote from this place: http://www.427autocollision.com/
they're super expensive, but it's the most professional shop i've seen in the GTA. they're even ISO 9001:2000 certified.

When I went looking I wanted super expensive high quality. Velocity is what came recommended. I've never gone out looking to cut corners. But everyone I've ever done a mod with has taken me somehow.

Smasher's.
Smasher's.
My parts have over spray on the chargespeed emblems, the front bumper has many little dents in it that were not filled/preped properly from the previous owner. The paint quality looks Blah over all to me. I know the front will need re-painting at some point because it bugs me.
I would not recomend them. Sure the price was cheap, 650 for paint and install but I would have been willing to pay more for the job to be done right.
When I picked up everything including my car it was raining out and my car was dirty and wet so it was very difficult to inspect the work.
Any way I still feel bad fo Mike.
I highly recommend Chico's Collision in Newmarket. My buddy's front bumper has been repainted on his 350Z and to this day, it has no orange peel and NO rock chips. Very well done. The only problem is I have no idea how much it costs..
I have personally dealt with 2 shops in the Niagara Area that have done excellent work:
Better Image -Repainted my car
The Autodream Group http://www.theautodreamgroup.com/home.html
specialized custom work
I would highly recommend them to anyone

Woodchester Collision did a fantastic job on my Maxima a few years back. I had some nasty door dings (one was over 5 inches long) and they fixed everything up, and the paint matched beautifully.
I've spoken to them about painting and installing my Chargespeed lip (when is it coming Frank!?) and they actually came back with a fairly reasonable price. And they also have a lifetime warranty on their work.
