My car is at Velocity right now.
Well I dropped off my car at Velocity Autobody today in Markham. I've never had a very good experience doing any mods, or with any shop before. It's been a long twisted tail of bad followed by worse.
So I thought I would start this thread, and keep it updated as my little body kit project moves along with the intent of keeping all of you in Ontario informed on one of the local shops in the area.
For today everything went very well. I dropped of the car and the parts with no run around. They actually remembered that my car was coming in, it was scheduled, and they knew what work was being done.
Tim met me and went over the car with me. He went over the parts and took note of what I wanted done, and how I wanted the parts painted. (I am getting it painted Silverstone with a little bit of black)
He warned me about colour match with Silverstone and how it can be difficult because of the different materials that are being painted. Aluminum vs sheet metal vs Black FRP. I informed him that I have had my front and rear bumpers resprayed due to chips once before and my previous body shop said they had to paint the panels white before adding silverstone to avoid it being too dark.
I asked about shaving the front emblem and Tim advised against it. He said the filler material will shrink causing visible ripples in the paint. I took his advice and will be putting an emblem on the front bumper. I then told them where I wanted the front plate mounted which was within the grill area of the V2.
I took a few "before" pics including the odometer and was on my way.
The work is supposed to take about 2 weeks.
Some pics of what is being painted.
Please feel free to stop in and let me know how the project is going. The shop is at Unit #3, 12 Heritage Rd. If you snap a pic post it here so I can see it. I live 4 hours away. Please don't steal my stuff. Insurance will jack me up.
EDIT: Results in post 63.

I'm sure this mod will go well Mike. 2 weeks though
I might just have my car in there with yours haha. Mine should be done same day if things go as planned. It's all in the planning.

OH yeah. No canards. And Dave, what do you mean planning?! I have been calling about this for weeks! they originally told me one week. But, the work load must have stepped up. I don't mind as long as it comes out well.
