I emailed the guy at Carbotech for some new pads for lapping but he hasent got back to me yet

and smasher i might be interested in the lapping...just dont know if i am confident with my stock brakes? i dunno i feel bad for the car if i run it that hard lol. but what time would u be doing the lapping? then what time would u go to the strip

The Lapping usually starts at ~8:30 am or so to 5pm I will try to find the schedule. I think it was $200 for lapping only and $250 with an instructor and lunch. I heard last weekend there was a price break because they didnt have a lot of people signed up? Not sure if it was the same group hosting that one though. For the extra 50 bucks the instructor is good. There is a full day of lapping so lots of track time. Easily use up a full tank of gas.

Stock breaks should be ok as long as you don't stay out to long at a time or hit them really hard a lot.

I have been on my stock street pads (Stoptech mind you) for 2 lapping days.
I could get Hawk HT-10's but was quoted 2 weeks so....

 

Just ordered my Carbotech pads XT-8's so not too agressive but still good for lapping.

next time don't spend so much money on your ricer rims
