Anyone ever use them in the past? Experience - good/bad, etc....

http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/home.do

They seem to have some really great pricing and for us Canadians it appears they pre pay the customs fees for us or at least work into the price of their quotes but even still, about 1/2 the cost of buying locally.

Any info anyone can share, that would be great, thanks!

Tirerack is more expensive and they dont carry falkens. As an example, here are the 3 cheapest I found for the STZ04:

1010 Tires
265/50/20 = 204.99
295/45/20 = 204.99

Sears
265/50/20 = 169.96
295/50/20 = 167.96

Discount Tire
265/50/20 = 119
295/45/20 = 122

No local vendors can beat their pricing? I've always gotten very decent pricing in the GTA, whether it be through Tires23, or two of my buddies that run constant tire GB's.

Believe it or not I have shared the same position as you for years. I have dealt with Tires23 and Steelecase for years and they have always been fairly competitive vs the US.

However, in this instance we are talking about roughly half the cost of purchasing local. Its true, I was astonished at the savings and looks I will for the first time ever buy cross border.

Tries 23 quoted me $800 taxes in out the door.
Online at discount its $480 shipped plus taxes (they pay the duties apparently) so savings are huge even I had to pay $150 in taxes and duties I'm still saving $170 + minus install and am I'm still up a $100+ in worse case scenario, plus tires23 is says the falkens are on back order right now, no idea when they will come in. warehouse is empty.

If you have a local contact that you think could get me 4 20" tires for $500ish let me know!

Wow... that is pretty pretty damn cheap. I paid 760 for my 19" SS595s, and thought I was getting a pretty good deal.

19s are typically more expensive then 20s anyways. I wanted to put some volks on the FX, ran them on my previous ride but for the cost of Volk 19s with tires I could supercharge the **** and still run 20s instead

well, almost.

Do you have any tread left on your current tires? You could always buy them from DTD, ship them to USAddress Inc., drive down to Buffalo via the Lewiston Bridge, go to a shop and get them mounted and balanced. Voiala! you save on shipping costs, duties and you can make a day out of it by going shopping or something.

If it's for your Z, then you'd probably have to get someone else to drive along with you. See if you can turn it into a trip or something with a few friends/family.

I tried them once in the past, but I like tirerack more. So, now I don't order tires from anyway else beside tirerack.
