Default best tire size ?

Hey guys .. can you guys chime in on the "best" tire size for the new set up?

- 19 - 9.5F and 10.5R

Most likely wont drop the Z this year .. so im thinking 275 in the rear .. but not sure .. 275/40? I dunno.

I dont want to roll fenders so what sizes do you guys think?

thx

i think the best choice for now is 275/35/19. Most of us with aftermarket rims that aren't FI'ed are running that size.

fronts you have an option between 245/35/19 and 255/35/19. I've ran both, and personally like 255/35/19 for the turn in. the grip feels pretty good!

with 10.5+24 and 275/35/19 tires, you're pretty safe and won't need a roll.

+1 ^^^

I would run 275/35/19's rear & 255/35/19's in the front.

Finding those sizes in 40's might be hard.

Thats exactly what i was thinkin . i just needed that confirmation.

I didnt think of the 255F though...hmmm are you running that now ? That may be an option. I was thnking 245 b/c I was afraid of anything bigger would be rubbin with a 9.5F +17

My offest are 17/24

I went to a tire shop today and they were saying go 40 around ..

what are you stock tire sizes? mine were 245/45/18 for the rears, and 275/35/19 was the closes match in terms of overall diameter.

you can play with your overall diameters here:

http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp

What was your tire shop's reasoning for going 40 profile?

so the same as mine.

here are the comparisons...275/40/19 is way off. whatever tire place it was, they're probably lying cause that's what they have in stock and they're trying to get rid of it.

play the the tire sizes on the link i posted, you can see for yourself. You can try and match the fronts if you want with 245/35/19 and 255/35/19.

you can try 275/30/19, 275/35/19. I ran that and it was pretty good. Or 265/35/19 in front.

As mentioned.
245-255/35/19 and 275-285/35/19.
Since you will have 9.5's in the front and 10.5's in the back I'd lean toward 255/ 285 myself. That was Strife's setup.

I have 8.5's in the front and 9.5's in the back and I have 245/35/19 and 275/35/19.

Whoever said 40 is WAY out to lunch.

Yep I am running 275F/R as well...best setup so far, give the Z a very neutral feeling.

Yea, I ran 255 and 285 f/r Sportcontact 2's... would highly recommend this setup. 275/35/19 on a 10.5" rear may look too stretched.

Keep in mind that section widths vary from manufacturer to manufacturer as well, even for the same published tire size. So a 285/35/19 from one manufacturer may end up being the same width (i.e. provide the same contact patch) as a 275/35/19 from another. Take a look at the published specs before buying.
