Then they can watch my lawyer tear apart their life. You don't have to submit to any searches without a warrant, and without probable cause. With nothing visible, they don't have probable cause.
If they ask you to step out of your car, do so, and then LOCK it immediately after. Cops have a lot less power than people think. They're just used to bullying people into things because most don't know their rights.

You've been watching too much court drama's on the tube. Your lawyer will cost more than your car is worth. Then what are you going to sue for? Emotional distress? That kind of lawsuit doesn't fly here in Canada. There are laws protecting officers against civil liability for this kind of stuff. A police officer doesn't need a warrant to search your car. If an officer has any reason to search your car, he can do so. Reasonable and probable grounds. Even if he didn't, he could make something up and you can't do squat about it. He can say he smelled drugs, seen you reach under the seat, or try to hide something. Give that kind of attitude to an officer and watch how many more cruisers show up to the scene and make your life hell.

True. Anyone in the Canadian government knows they can do whatever the **** they want. You try to sue the police force. See what happens. If you win, I'll call you "The Man" and buy you an import beer.

I know quite a few people with detectors and they have saved a lot of money for the users. Not only the fine but the insurance hike after a few tickets.
I would like to have one that is hidden so I don't need to show it in plain sight.

So is this the only detector we can use here without getting caught? Anyone have one?

Sti, Sti-R and 9500CI are the only detectors that are undetectable.

The last two are custom install units that cost over 1k before installation and the the last one, the CI, has laser jammers included. They (the laser jammers)should provide decent protection on darker colored Z's.

Wow... that's pretty sick. I'm very worried about getting something like that taken away though I never knew we had such little rights here...

by the way, in quebec it is illegal too, same of ontario, they take the detector + fees, past year it was 600$ fees and you lose your detector, the sti driver is +/-500$

so dont be too fast on the highways, the detector wont read farter if you run faster
