Default Radar detectors?

Can we use em? Can we hide em? What's the story with radar detectors in Ontario?

Beltronics STi Driver - Just as illegal as all the other ones, but with the added benefit of being undetectable The thing though is, I've read somewhere that they only use laser here, so a radar detector won't help you. I don't know if this is true or not though.

Both radar and laser is used in Ontario, but the majority of the detectors are laser. Also, not to mention that all police cruisers have radar detector detectors. Not worth the risk of getting one.

Well if its illigal, why not have a class action agaist the government to make it legal, after all, government works for us (sort of thing)

anyone tried this before? i would love to have a detector in the car, not that i speed, i just like to spy on cops that spy on me

Err, the one I mentioned is undetectable. The only question is whether it's actually useful, if they all use laser.

I didn't notice the sign entering Canada that radar detectors were illegal. Got pulled over and had my $350 radar detector confiscated plus a $170 fine which I still haven't paid. **** the police! Even the Canadian ones!

Trust me its worth the $$.

Do you get a lot of good warnings from it? I definitely want to get one, but I keep hearing this whole thing about how they use laser and how it can't help with that.

there's only one way to find out. buy one and try it out. but having a radar detector isn't a license to drive like an asshat.

It's legal here. Even with some using laser, this thing has paid for itself easily.

Add another to the list of reasons why pretty much every other place on this planet is better than Ontario.
Rich - I don't necessarily want to drop 6 bills on a paperweight I want to know that it'll be useful to me first.

yes, radar detectors today also pick up laser. They are quite illegal in Ontario. There are some who also state they are detectable by officers ( I can't confirm that).

You will receive a ticket + fine. You will also have your equipment taken away for good. You'd have to surrender it right away. Playing ******** with the cop will have you in the back of the cruiser while they tear apart your car.
