1. I PERSONALLY think that 135i is for girl.
2. 350Z TT will COMPLETELY destroy 135i.
3. 135i = OVERPRICE.

Before I bought my 350 I was looking at a used 3 series or maybe a new 128i. But I found the 1 series a bit stubby, it doesn’t look as sleek as the 3 series.

A 350TT should destroy 135i., but when I was in Florida last March one of the salesmen at the dealer had a moded 335i. He said for around $3000 he had M3 power. So I would think you could have the same in a 135i.

I still think that 135i is overpriced, I would buy a 335i if they were cheaper though.

The dealer's probably referring to the proceed (or similar) chip.

It's true that a chipped 135i or 335i puts up E92 M3 performance *in a straight line* ... but the comparisons stop there. Start talking about handling and the M3 is in a completely different league from its younger "economy" focussed siblings.

Which begs the quesiton - if all a buyer cares about is straight line performance, why bother with a 350/370z (or a 1/3-series) at all?

Get a Mustang or some other big-block V8 for half the price and call it a day.

EASY! i'd go BMW over Nissan, then there are the stock turbos which I LOVE! Take reliability and all into consideration, TT 350z vs 135i that has stock turbos?

stock 135i running 13.0 1/4 mile, and you know how euro cars respond to computer upgrades.

Personally, I'd have more fun in this, than a 350z...

Keep in mind that we're talking about the 370 here, not a 350. The 370 produces the same amount of power as a 135i (330 HP underrated to 300 HP by BMW), and it's also a tad bit lighter. Either way, I'm not really into drag racing in straight lines. Handling is also very important.

Problem is that nobody here has driven a 370z yet.. I test drove a 135 last season.. was not impressed.

And 370Z weights same as 350Z despite the "lightweight reduction"

The 370's body is a lot more rigid, though. Despite all of the reinforcements, it still weighs the same as a 350, and I think that's a very good thing.

I was at the Chicago Auto Show over the weekend, and did not see what display I was walking towards. As the crowd cleared, there was a red 135 in profile about 15 feet in front of me, and my initial thought was 'Kia".

135 - hideously ugly, econo-crap looking car. BMW is making a mistake by not bringing the more attractive 135 hatch over here.

in most cases it is cheaper and easier to make a factory turbo car faster than a naturally aspirated car with a turbo thrown on it

buy a used z06

That may be, but I'm starting to like the 370Z a lot more than the 135i.

The 370z is a better sports car PERIOD. The 350z made it into EVO magazine (the most respected in the business) Car of the Year comp, and is rated 5 stars, one star higher than the 135. The car goes *about* as well in a straight line, corners better, has better body control, and is more predictable on the limit. No question, unless you're looking for a car that rides slightly better and is more luxurious, that you should get a 370

More rigid just might be in theory... it's pulling in track numbers similar to a 350z HR

Exactly. To add to that... the dyno #s i've seen so far are VERY close to the HR. Substantially, the 370z is VERY MUCH like the 350Z, only with minor improvements.
If you've already owned a 350z, you might as well keep it.

Maroli, the 135i has near 50/50 weight distribution. When it comes to cornering, the 135i would handle like a sportscar.

Personally, i'd get the 335i over 135, more sophisticated and classier.

What's up with those dyno readings? I was told that the 370Z had 330 BHP.

Kasim: The 335i is a great executive car, but I don't think it'd suit a 19-year-old. Why you're comparing it to the 370 and the 135 is totally beyond me.
