I couldn't agree more. I've been to other cities in the US (ATL, Boston, New Jersey, LA) never in Miami but I personally think that Toronto is a much better city compared to most cities in the states.

So true, I used to really like NYC but the crowds and hordes of tourist was kinda annoying...... not LA specifically but surrounding area's are awesome, OC, Hills, etc, but you need some serious coin......

Everyone had some great ideas! Any more?

I stayed at the Auberge Saint Antoine in QC, it was very nice, 4 stars. If you dont stay there consider eating at the resturant, it was very good.

We don't have an economic crisis here, so what distressed assets could you possibly be looking at in Toronto? We have 1 foreclosure in 5000 sales and they are wholesale they don't even have public availability... Real estate has has less than a 5% decline is most instances. Unless you are buying for a REIT not much distressed here under the 1 million mark.

Just curious?

For shopping hit Vaughan Mills, its a brand new mall and is a Ladies Fav for sure (Hwy 400 and Rutherford) Wonderland is just north at Hwy 400 and Major Mac (like 5 mins) and is a great place to catch some coasters and shows etc..

Downtown area has lots of great restaurants and entertainment. Honestly leave the car, and walk Yonge street going north, the night life and restaurants will all be open and you can just walk right into some of the best chill night clubs (jazz bars etc) that you have ever been to. Toronto is super safe (per a city) as you know, so no need to feel afraid to walk around and meet people and check things out.

So... I have a few impressions post trip:

1. Toronto's city workers need to get their pay issues worked
out and get the garbage cleaned up.
2. I got a tremendous deal at the Sutton which I was unhappy
with until I realized what I got for $70USD/night
3. I am not personally capable of riding every coaster at Wonderland
without vomitting.
4. The dim sum at Li wah heen / Metropolitan is worth every
penny (I knew this immediately after the lobster, garlic and butter
dumplings were brought to us - in the shape of lobsters).
5. Durian really does smell like **** and taste like ice cream.
6. Can't the pride folks have one parade? Is two really necessary?
No.
7. Fallsview and Casino Niagra have poor approaches to poker
8. I should have planned my car rental better as I ended up in a
Dodge avenger.
9. Attitudes have gotten worse throughout Ontario. I just don't recall
so many people being foul (although my last trip was 15 years ago).
10. Toronto's economy seems to be roughly 24 months behind the
states... Can it avoid combustion? I just don't know. The facilities I
looked at seemed to be in relatively robust areas, and business seemed
to be planning ahead. I did not see nearly the amount of supply in the
marketplace present in the southeastern US.
11. Steamwhistle was a nice diversion downtown.
12. Did not make it to the distillery district, nor pacific mall.
13. Had an amazing trip
14. The keg > Baton Rouge

you gotta go to Spuntini while in Toronto - it's an Italian restaurant -

killer food and great service.

$50+ per person
