Default Attention lawyers

I am a food supplier and usually when we service customers, restaurants businesses, we provide a credit terms. Most people quaLIFY FOR 5000 and 30 days. Now, one customer has streched the rope and is at 5400 and over 30 days. I hear from staff she is a bad payer . Now, she has sent a cheque for 800 covering an invoice, but from what her staff tell me, she only contacted our company because nobody ships her any product because she does not pay. What can i do. She tells me she mails cheques but i never recieve them. After waiting patiently for 15 days, i finally got one for 800. But, shes still 4600, over drawn.

If i go to small claims court, or what do i do??? I do have invoices stating she has accepted product, as well as i have a contract stating that she is personally liable for all fees and lawyer costs to collect the funds, with her signature, bank info and all info.

Do i stand a good chance at winning. What do i do.

There's a better business bureau where you can file a complaint for b2b transactions or just go to small claims court, but i think the most you'd be able to sue is $10,000.

I'm thinking there's not many lawyers popping around town in 350z's.

Try the yellow pages.

Nick,
A lawyer would be more costly at this point. Small claims court is a PITA, and its likely that even with a conviction, that you will not see your money.
I would just continue to deal with the person directly and keep pressuring them to pay. Maybe pay the person a visit to collect in person.

lol i thought he was referring to the younger lawyers. But, is small claims court really that much of a hassle? Because i was planning on disputing a case with a company that misrepresented their services.

well, i did recieve a cheque for 1500 which does clear everything up for over 30 days. Now, tomorrow, there is another invoice that is about to pass the 30 day pay period and i do not have a cheque for that. She did place an order for monday, for about 1500. But, if i have a balance for over 30 days, do i ship.....Do i give her a grace period of a few days, but she should know that at the 30 day mark, a cheque is supposed to be in our hands.
