I just don't like how it's automatically concluded that it was a result of street racing. I once got a street racing ticket for driving with a friend in a 350Z as well and we were simply going 80 on 60 and no cars on the road....

Cops' biased judgement comes into a huge play for targetting modified cars...

It is very convenient for the police and press to use the street racing terminology as often as possible to try to make a case for themselves. As mentioned here, speeding is a impulse and might happen for a very short period of time. If you get caught with a modified car at that time you get labeled as a street racer, WTF. If you get caught in a mini van it is just a speeding ticket, unless you are over that 50 limit.

If someone was to look at the statistics for what types of vehicles that have been impounded under the new law I think they will find very few modified cars. They don't get the vehicles they expected. If we spend a lot of time and money on your car you just don't take chance loosing it to the cops. Especially since it is all up to the cops judgment at the scene to tell if it was just a normal speeding incident or "street racing", with a modified car we all know what that will be.

Stay safe and keep it to the track for the racing.
