Default I need some opinion on this 240sx

I have some option of what to do and this one is the biggest that i must take into consideration .

I got my roadster stolen a month ago , I'm waiting for my insurance company to call back early this week for the final arrangement *$$$*

They are suppose to pay for a brand new car of similar equipment + some more $$ for what was declared to the insurance company.

after everything that i went Through during the last month , I'm sure about what to do next .

1 = get a cheap 350z 2003 then mod it mainly for the track

2= get a brand new 370z +sport . *half DD half track*

3=get a 240sx from a friend of mine that went in training with (military)

the 240sx was build as a drift car * I'm not very interested into that , i need grip = lapping )

a full cage ( 6pts )
sr20det black top *GT28R* goes to 16-18psi (compression test is at 155 with +-3psi )
come with 2 diff ( 1.5way / 2way )
come with 8 mags
Tein coilover (-5000kms ) I helped him to install them.
ECU management need to be redone with something better
custom race gaz tank
hydraulic handbrake
I'm not sure about his brake setup .. probably upgraded

his RPM need to be fix
need better gauge
might need a new transmission (sometimes the gear grind at high rpm )

he is asking 8600$ ,.. how does it look ?

Buy a modded 350z. If your going to track it buy one that has mods that you need. Its so much cheaper than buying a z first then modding it. Check out the cars for sale on this forum. Ive seen some real nice ones modded for the price of a stock used one(kbb value).

I would go for the 370z. Two oil coolers and you're good to go!

Imo, that 240 looks like x2

That 240 is terrible.
It would have to be the fastest car alive to make up for it.

I was thinking maybe to get the 240 at the price of 8600$can (for the US guys reading)

at a budjet of 15 000 $ it could have been a nice track car to have fun with .

getting some more accurate gauge / transmission / clucth / and a good Ecu/ems and tune-up ... it should be a car quite fast on the track

I know the turbo is less than 5000kms since he bought it when we were in course. paid 1200$ at that time .

but yes the 370z is really interessting but cost much more !!! hehe

If you want to go the 240 route..

Pm - JjL
"95 240sx w/ s14 sr20det"
https://my350z.com/forum/6437832-post1.html
I believe he wants $8k.. Its leaps & bounds better and at a cheaper price... Also, JjL is a nismo *****, so you will be getting nothing but nismo goodies with that 240.

That 240z looks like garbage. Go with a used 350z.

I don't need to. Unless you are blind, you can see for yourself why the 240z looks like garbage.

As for going with a used 350z - its not much more than that overpriced 240z, and will hold its resale much better, offer a more civilized ride, be more reliable, handle better, etc etc. It also doesn't look like a laughing stock. If it were my money, it would go to a used 07 VQHR 350z, which would be left stock, or close to it.

$8600 CAD is too much for an S13 240sx. For about that price you can get a newer 240 like a late model s14 kouki if you decide to go that route. Personally i love 240's. great to beat on at the track...

I want to thank everyone with their opinion and offers , everything is looked at and every setup are good depending of what the main goal is .

i see people saying the car look **** and everything ,,, guys , thats going to be a track car , not a DD , i don't care how it look but how fast it could but without having to spend 60k to accomplish the same thing

I loved my 350z roadster with the HR ,,, I passed a lot of other car that i really thought i couldn't with only street tire ,crap Bc coilover , I didn't had time to play with my front camber to see the better result it could have gave me ...
but it was quite expensive trying to build that car and having to pay for the car itself (loan) , its not like i couldn't afford it ,, but I just want to find a better way that will give better result.

^Hi
Did you have a look at the link I posted?..
All nismo parts, including a $1500 nismo clutch (I saw myself), lmgt4's.... Track ready and for a cheaper price..
I am not sure why you are still considering the other/older/uglier s13...

You also said this was going to be a DD / Track ****.. So why not go for the nicer and newer s14
Unless of course, you have your heart set on the s13.. and only posted the thread for others to agree with you....

Anyhow, good luck man..

^ Yeah, everyone constructive criticism in respect to that S13 has been met with a rebutal inquiring for specifics or defending the car by saying 'oh, i was there when my buddy did this so I know it's good and it cost *this* much'.. He's your friend no doubt, it's just not worth the money.

The link is a great car with good parts for the price, period... either that or as the other members stated, buy a 350 from the classifieds and import it... and they're saying it looks like **** in respective comparison for what he wants for it, parts and engine inclusive.

Track cars don't have to be 'pretty' but at the same time, you did mention DD as risky stated above, so which is it? Either way, the latter car linked to will be a better option for *BOTH*... imho.

edit: You made a good choice .

I also was pointed at that nice RX7 TT from someone on the board with a nice price but I've never been a fan of the rotary engine

https://my350z.com/forum/east-canada...fs-rx7-tt.html

another thing is I dont know anything about them other than what other peoples told me ,,, its a good car ,, its not .... opinion are far to be the same.
