You can cut it anywhere, ie Canadian tire, home depot etc, only thing you will need is to program the chips in side the keys. i got my flip up key for z cut at crappy tire for 3.50, coincidence

IIRC, there is a thread on here that explains how to program the fob yourself...

Search can be your friend!

i don't think you can program the key yourself, i'm pretty sure you need to go to a dealer

im not talking about the FOB im talking about the chip inside the key itself cutting is not the issue they want 100$ per key to program the chip... im not talking about the remote and i did search thats why i post here because maybe you guys know somewhere locally or know someone that works for nissan looking for a couple extra bucks.. the search results i came up with some mentioned stands in malls and locksmiths not in our area.

did you just rip out the chip from old key and put it in the flip? i cant really rip out a chip and put it in other key would defeat the purpose

Pretty much, except i used exacto(sp) knife to cut out one of the sides that holds the chip and pop it out from the bottom, took me about 30 mins, becareful not to cut/damage the chip though, i took out a small chunk of it, but it still works good luck

You should just pay the dealership, or live with one key..

that instruction is to get ur remote to work with ur car.. not program a transponder.

Try ABC Locksmith. He came out to me about of month ago. I think the keys are $40 each, I forget how much it was for programming. I do know that for him to come to me, 1 key, and the programming was the same or cheaper than what dealers wanted.

Also, he wasn't able to program the key but I'm pretty sure that's because my original key had lost its programming. Ended up having it take it to the dealer anyways. He did bring a laptop out though and hooked it up to the car so I'm pretty sure he can program the key. Might be worth a shot? http://www.abclock.ca/

There's probably some places in or at least closer to Toronto too. Search for locksmiths on yellowpages.ca and something should come up.

I don't think anyone's going to risk losing their job at a dealership over a programmed key. Requires use of their computers, which is completely traceable... which defeats the purpose of cash under the table haha.

I lost one of my keys and had two re-created as a result... i searched as well, you have to bite the bullet on this one man.
