Default R&D Shift **** arrived!!

Ordered a brushed Ti shift **** from R&D Factory last week and it came in no time! Put it on and realized how stupid it looks without a finisher so I called up Terry @ ZeeToyz and ordered one of his finishers. Should be there on Friday hopefully!

I just got my Tommy Kaira Hebi Bebi today too!!! Put it on without finisher, IMO it looks best without one!! Looking good though! How hard was it to take the OEM shifter off?? After reading some threads I was nervous, but mine is an 08 and all I had to do was simply unscrew it. I did it while at a stop light...LOL

it's got an amazing feel to it. really solid weight... not sure exact but it definitely feels good shifting through gears.

i didn't put a finisher on yet. i have a zip-tie up top cinched down pretty good and covered up with a strip of electrical tape wrapped around. it's up inside the bottom of the **** so you can't see a thing. i'll probably go up to the hardware store this weekend and find a small rubber gasket to put on it just so there's something small there between the **** and the boot. nothing for show, just there for my hand to have something to 'sit on' at the base. i love it!

the stocker was a **** to take off though! i had to pull the plastic bezel up and clamp it down underneath with a vise grip then wrap the **** with a towel and i used a crescent wrench to twist it off up top. didn't take long but i was really paranoid as well after reading the potential for f'in up the tranny.

Nice.. Just keep a MF towel in your car for summer.. That thing is going to transfer a lot of heat..

Some are harder than others... my sb z was a **** to get off.. I literally had to put my foot into it..
My white z, was like "butta".
-Just make sure you follow the diy, get yourself a pipe wrench and the biggest set of channel locks you can find.
TK was my fave!

My stock **** wasn't that hard to take off. It took a good twist with ma whhhacckin arm but it didn't require any tools.

And you are right this thing can get pretty warm! It wasn't even hot out yesterday, but the **** was in direct sunlight and I had to use my sleeve for the first few minutes to shift lol...

8oz... not enough weight imo. TK is basically a pound I believe, that's half the appeal.

I'm running forged performance shift ****, no complaints.... it gets hot as hell in the summer too however. I have a 1lb custom made **** that is similar (minus it not being brushed) I may install in the summer. Does the TK sit flush as it comes or does it need a small hack job to be flush?

I was going to get this but living in vegas I would not be able to shift without burning my hand. If they only could make one that does not absorb heat.
Looks good though.
