I attended a Solosprint high performance driving school on Sunday so I could lap the big track at Mosport. Unreal, it was so much fun! The only downside is all the rubber scuffs from rubber ***** being kicked up off the track hah. I thought Smasher was all registered and going but there was no sign of another 350Z there
.
Anyways, here is a video of me chasing my buddy in his Shelby GT500. I was able to reach 195km/h before chickening out and braking for turn 8 on the back straight. I just ran a session probably 15 minutes before this one so my brake fluid ended up over heating at the end, once I got the mushy pedal it was time to cool down so I was only able to do 1.5 hot laps after passing my buddy.

Hey Parker,
Nice to hear it was a good time. I was registered and all set to go then Thurs I got an oil leak and had to back out. Not sure yet what it is.
I really wanted to go. I had 4ea 2.5 gallons of 94 to bring along and was ready to swap in the new xp10's on my Stoptechs.

Awe geeze, well I'm glad you leaked before you got on the track! That is too bad though, that was my fear... something would happen to keep me from making it.
The XP-10's have held up amazing in my Brembo's, my only issue is my fluid over heating... I need some ducts to take the heat away faster! I wonder how the Stoptech's would fair, hopefully a little better since you are running FI! I was excited to see that thing wind out up the back straight! Oh and bringing some extra gas is a great idea, I payed $20 for 11.6 liters at the track
. Thank goodness I didn't say "fill'er up!", I figured you would pay a premium so I just wanted enough gas to make sure I could finish the day.
Any plans to try and make it out again?

Yes there is no problem finding high pressure air at 150+
, it's just a matter of telling it where to go. I had actually rigged up some ducts using a vinyl duct/corrugated thinger. Knowing it was vinyle I didn't want it to be able to touch the caliper because I figure it could light on fire. So I got it all setup but then had no bracket to hold the duct away and also the hard brakeline coming out of the caliper would touch the duct when turned my wheel so that the leading edge of the tire was all the way to the inside. I figured it is better to have hot brakes then no brakes so I ripped it all off.
I think I'm running the typical RBF600... I put it in part way through last season so I can't remember now. It isn't a synthetic fluid anyways so I didn't bother bleeding them this year.
I was also look at making up some air dams to mount to the lower control arm, I got the idea from the new ZR1. Anyways by that time it was too late to fab anything up.

Yeah good ducts on our cars are not very easy, as there is a lot in the way. I did a 'mock' setup with dryer duct and there is a lot of bends to get around the rad, and I wonder how much air is really getting to the brakes. Obviously there are ways to make it more efficient (naca duct at the start), but its still not the ideal path.
I would flush the fluid more often. I know some people who do it after/before every event, regardless of the qualify of fluid.

Parker, I'm glad you enjoyed the day. Sorry that I didn't get over to chat with you.
There's another CASC-OR lapping day - not a school - on August 21 with a timed event on August 22nd. They will fill up fast!
