Default wheel lock lost....

Did anyone had their wheel lock lost before? I lost mine......! What can I do? Should I go back to Dealer or just go to the stores to unlock the wheel nuts? And how much usually cost? Thanks

If it's an oem wheel lock kit that came with the car, go to the dealer with your VIN number.

If not, jam a socket onto each lock and remove them. (You'll be sacrificing items this way)

I'm not sure where you live, but I took my car to Johnson and Magwood in Mississauga, he basically hammered a socket over top of the lock nut and it came off with no problem, I think I paid the guy like $30.

What kind of lock?

I broke my Mcguard one way back when, I took a picture of the flower pattern and they sent me a new one for $25.

I lost the OEM key of the wheel lock. So I can just go in to the dealer and they can make another key for me?

They should be able to get you one by referencing the VIN number if the wheel locks came as a factory option. If you bought them separately, you'll need paperwork or packaging to show part numbers for your set.

I lost my oem key last year. I called the dealer to try to replace it, I can't remember if they said I can't or that I would have to wait and it would cost more than I new set anyway.

I asked how do I remove them then, they said they have a master set, there are only like 12 different keys. I asked how much to remove then, they said like 15 mins or $15 or so. I went to Doner Nissan in Newmarket where I live, I spoke with the service manager and asked if I buy a new set for $40 or whatever can I borrow the key for 10 mins and I will remove them myself. He said don't worry about it and he came out him self and removed my lock nuts and reinstalled the new set.

I went to the dealer yesterday.........they uninstall the wheel lock for me for 29.99 plus tax and then install the stock nuts for me for $9 per nuts. Man, this is so expensive....! I spend almost $70 for the total just because I lost the wheel lock. Fu*k........

I would be happy to walk away with $70

I lost a Key to my Volk lugs and had to buy a complete set for $140. To make it worse I could only use the Key from the set i purchaseed, the Lugs in the set were the wrong size for the Z and I still have these lugs sitting in my garage They didnt have my wheel lugs with the specific key in stock at the time and it would have been weeks for a special order.

I was not prepared to try and smash a socket over the lug and risk damaging the Volk wheels to get them off.

If you have Volk Lugs make sure you remember the Key number just in case.
