APH = Sublime Work

APH = Sublime Work
I took the car out of storage a few weeks ago but didn't really drive it much as I wanted to get to APH to get some work done. So I booked my car in with Ed for this morning to get an oil, transmission, and differential fluid change. I had a few other parts that I picked up over the cold, depressing winter months that also got installed. They are as follows:
New OEM Driver side window motor
Zspeed Aluminum Undershroud - this is a direct bolt on replacement for the OEM plastic undertray. It has a trap door to make oil changes easy. Fit and finish are top notch, this piece adds a bit of body rigidity and is much more durable that the plastic undertray. Outstanding product - I highly recommend it!
ARC Oil pan - I picked this up from a fellow member (dikspiel). This piece is extremely rare and was kept in excellent condition by the previous owner. The craftsmanship is exceptional. This will act as a last line of defense incase I run into any oil consumption issues (knock on wood). Thanks Dan for being a great guy to deal with and for shipping this to Canada!
Topspeed Y Pipe - I picked this up yesterday from Bing (super nice guy). Quality product without the big price tag. This mates up perfectly to my Fujitsubo exhaust and gives the car car an even "beefer" sound - looks great too.
All this work was completed by Ed and Alec in just over 2 hours. We are extremely lucky to have such skillfull and knowledgable mechanics in the GTA. I would highly recommend APH for all your performance needs.
All the best Ed! Get all your sleep now before the new addition comes.
I've attached some not so great iphone pics...

Sorry if this is off topic... are you experiencing oil consumption issues? My 06 is at 106,000KM (got it at 16,000 in Jan 2009... i know...) and i'm only consuming acceptable amounts (500ml per 5000km or less), I got a new PCV valve and I clean and rotate my PCV valve every oil change. Looking at all resources online I found that a common observation with oil consuming VQ's was that the PCV valve would get stuck open causing the motor to suck up more oil than normal. I made a video here showing the difference between my dirty PCV valve and a clean new one: http://stoich.ca/zvideos.htm
Also found this link from a pathfinder owner with a oil consuming VQ35 that suggests the drain holes in the passenger side valve cover are too small to drain oil fast enough: http://www.netcrafting.com/car_mx/pathfinder/oil.html
I haven't gone the valve cover route yet as i'm not consuming oil at an alarming rate but since Nissan can't fix it and V2 motorsets are still having oil consumption issues I will definitely try it out if I get to that point.
Just some food for thought if you get to that point.

Hey fellow co-worker - currently I have no consumption issues. My car has 40,000 km on it and I'm the original owner. The balance of the warranty just expired in March. I run Motul oil and usually add about 500-700ml between oil changes. The ARC oil pan is more of a safety measure. Unfortunately I couldn't get the PCV Valve video to work. Some other cool vids though... I like the one of you destroying that old BMW
