Default Wtb: Bbk asap

Whoooaaaa acronyms...

anyways, looking at buying a big brake kit, front and rear for a g35.

likely going with the 370z akenbono kit from CZP unless there is a good used stoptech or similar kit available locally for a competitive price.

want to buy this week.

didnt i post in the East Canada section???

why are FL and SC dudes the only guys in here

$6k for whatever you have is exactly why i'm going with the akebonos

already in touch with CZP about it... if those JBT or stoptechs were still available in the private classifieds i'd go thatwise, but alas, tis not to be.

I would hold out for a real BBK.

Buy used brembos over Akenbonos.

the akebono setup is heavy and doesn't brake as well as the oe brembo setup.

the czp brackets also self-loosen from what i've heard.

don't look to the rotor size as a meter of brake performance.

unless they're brakes off an r35 of course

Z's and G's are slow heavy pigs anyways... an extra few lbs is nothing to be worried about..

remove spare tire, get smaller battery... voila... overcompensated for.

any references to tests or comaprisons?

Modified article favours the akebonos

Bing, send me a message. I have a buddy selling his rear akebonos with like 4k on them if that for $700. W/ stoptech rotors, not the OEM ****.

They came off the car for his AP brakes to go on today if I'm not mistaken.

saw that, e-mailed him.

cheaper to go direct to CZP though by several hundred.

Are you buying it for bling or for better stopping?

A larger rotor does not = better braking (if you search around it has been discussed at length)

larger rotor = better heat/fade resistance

are you driving on the track?

I upgraded to the 06+ calipers/rotors + SS lines + RBF 600 + Carbotech XP12's and it has better feel and better braking distances than Z's with BBK's

Are you driving with R comp's? What kind of tires? Weight savings will probably have a better bang for your buck than a brake upgrade but it all depends on the application

better heat and face resistance IS better braking...or a component of better braking anyways.

my sole purpose of doing this upgrade is to make other boys jealous of my large calipers

regardless, i've committed to a set up... picking up tomorrow.
