what do you have for brakes? These do clear brembos.I was just putting it out there do,no biggie if you dont want them.As for weight did it really matter if your running 450 hp LOL.Cheaper tire options as well...

MovIt calipers, 6-piston fronts & 4-piston rears.
They are about twice as large as the stock Brembos.
The pic attached shows the brakes behind 19" GT-Cs. The rotors are a reasonably sized 342mm, but the caliper is FAT. They do clear the OEM 18s from 2003...but BARELY.
I hear on on tire prices! Just doing some research and most stuff is almost $500/tire. Ouch.

How about fitment out front, Mike? Is there room for a 265? A 265/285 setup is getting mighty close to square...

265 up front will fit yes, in fact I think a 285 on a +15 offset will work. Some guys run 305s up front!!
If you are looking at the RS3, than the 265/285 setup will work great on the 9.5/10.5 wheel, its a very common setup. Assuming you can get tires, I have heard of shortages. They are a wicked tire you won't be disappointed.
As for weight, you will feel a massive difference to the stock 18s. One of the best mods for the track regardless of tire.

1010tires.com has the rs3 in stock.
I also priced out the new Michelin Pilot Sport Cup - quite the premium. Could they be that much better?
Are there better deals out there than the attached?
I'm obviously in no rush...but I'd like to know what I should expect to budget.

psports are pricey because they come OEM on 911s and they will pay a premium for anything :P
You won't find a faster tire than RS3s in that utog rating. Grassroots did a dry/wet comparison of the top street tires and the RS3s blew them away in the dry and came I think 2nd in wet.
If you want better you are looking at R compounds like the R888 or A048 tires, but you don't want to drive them to the track. The RS3s seem to be ok with tons of heat cycles too. If you plan to drive to the track on the wheels, they are the tire to get.
I dont know what prices are good, but for reference I paid $800 delivered for my 255/17 set. A shop with a tirerack account should be able to get you a deal.

A fellow forum member has 275/35/18s for sales for only $800 + shipping. (About 1/2 price!)
I don't want to beat a dead horse...but would a a square 275 setup be effective for my power levels or is more tire required?
If I went this route I figured I'd still do the 9.5/10.5 staggered setup to run bigger tires later.
Thoughts?

go for it. Dont worry too much on the perfect setup right now, you will learn what you like best as you get on the track more. If you do do a squared setup you can also rotate tires front-back.

Like Gt rob said .... Go for it. 275 aint bad and also its not like they will last forever right, if you find out they are not big enough then just use them till they are no good anymore and then next time go get bigger ones.
I would not worry to much, just tires its always good to experiment with stuff like that.
