Wow just wow....

Like what others said I would take the car somewhere else and foot the bill back to the crappy body shop.

I had a windshield replaced long ago on my Z and the installer messed up the door seals/pillar body parts. The 'owner' of the franchise wanted to fix it at his shop. I said hell no and took it to my body shop. I footed the $2200 bill to the windshield replacement shop and they paid for it.

I hope everything works out in your favor op.

Everyone flag their kijiji ad and type other reason as "thieves" it will shut down their kijiji account and blocks their IP if it gets enough hits from different IPs.

I've seen cars come out of Maaco better than this. The cars that came out of my high school body shop put this shop to shame. This is actually the worst I've seen from a "professional" body shop. I use the term professional lightly in this case.

Good luck with this OP. You said you saw some of their previous work and it looked good... Any idea why your car got butchered?

Take it to the magicians at Luxury Autobody in Etobicoke and they can resurrect that disaster just like every hack job they fix :-)

Wow

The first 2 pics look normal but after that its all sh$t. It looks like they painted everything on the car, very bad taping, bad sanding, bad re and re, and the sides with the cocking is terrible.

What was the quote on this, it looks like maybe a $1000 base clear colour change job. Even a tape up paint job should be min $1500 and it wouldn’t be taped like this. I full re paint same colour should be at least $3000.

I ve done better more than this myself on my old winter beater Ford tempo. dam

Unfortunate. As others have stated, do not return the vehicle to the shop for repairs. They are done. Bad habits are very difficult to change.

Sickboy's media offer might be worth taking up!

Yeah it is a good offer. I PM'd him about it already and we will talk more about it when I get home from China on the 10th.

And yes it is the worst caulking job I have ever seen too. But at least it isnt wood screws like another board member had happen to him.

I've had several board members recommend some shops to take it too which has been very helpful. My girlfriends cousin also works for an Exotic car dealer who is getting their lawyer to call on Monday.

Well I am pretty sure I am still going Banana's. It has been a week and I am still forcing myself to re read everything I write about it to try and not let my emotion come through. It doesn't help that the owner went on Vacation without replying to my last email about what he did with my fenders, side skirts etc that he took off.

I seriously am still unable to wrap my head around how mangled this paint job is. My dad got a $40 crappy-tire gun and redid his jeep yj with metal flake in a dirt floor barn and it turned out 100 times better then this. He wasn't looking to do a good job either, he just was patching some rust spots and decided to do a little extra to make it look even.

Oh well. I am home in a few days and I pick the car up with my new clutch installed and get to see this abortion first hand.

Man I feel for you. The colour looks good though. Great choice. I hope you get it resolved to your standards.

Thank you. I have to admit the colour did not turn out like I had planned. This colour has a little more green in it then I wanted. But I gave the body shop the paint code so I can't fault them for that.

I also might look at a different colour in the repaint just because I don't want anything to remind me of this and the car has to be completely stripped anyways.

I've been looking at a few options online if I do decide to go completely away from this colour but we will see when the time comes.

already flagged their kijiji ad. Hope their account gets banned with enough flags. Don't forget you might have to replace the clutch if it has 'no feeling' but I guess you'll find that out when you come back. Though I feel if they start promising you they'll patch things up and start giving you the run around - I would immediately unless full terror with them
