Default Cheap (inexpensive) shops in Toronto?

What are some of the most inexpensive shops you've been to in Toronto?

Give us an example of what work was done and for how much.

Also LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION.

I'm cheap (reads: poor) and looking for fair prices on labour. I usually source my own parts. Just recently I need to change my pads and refill my AC Freon, I found a shop in Mississauga that will do the rear pads for $80 for labour, and AC re-fill also for $80.

What are some shops you know of that are competitive in pricing?

Shop Name: Competitive Auto
Shop Location: 1170 Eglinton Ave East.

If you have a house with a garage, Forums + DIY.

Buy a case of beer and invite a knowledgeable friend(s) over.

I wish unfortunately I just moved out of a house into an apartment with no where to work on my car, but I love DIY stuff, it's my hobbie, which makes me sad even further... lol

80 bucks for pads not so bad. As for AC, rolling down windows is free ... The actual cost of freon in our cars is like 12 bucks, $68 to hook it up and do pads while waiting seems steep

I've done this type of car work on a side street (cuz i'm ghetto like that) and at the track. Floor jack, stands and hand tools good to go.

Yeah? No kidding. So he charged me $80 for the Freon service. But then it turns out that wasn't the problem. So he charged me $50 for an inspection and he found that the wire snapped off the compressor. (but that's another story).

So that's a little much to ask eh?

Without a doubt, Ed at Automatrix. You would be doing yourself a major dis-service to not check them out.
