Dyno Test
Hey my name is Salah Mahmoud I live in Egypt and i was asking what is the Dyno Test i know its a stupid question im new but i want to know how do we Dyno test a car what does a dyno tester look like and why do we need to test a car when we modify the Engine.
It is a machine you put your car on to find out how much horse power and torque your car puts down to the rear wheels at specific RPMs. You can also find out what your air fuel ratios are. I attached a printout of the chart I got when I dynoed my Z Friday night. Maybe this will help you.

Dynos come in all different styles, but they all basically have rollers that you put your car on and it measures the power of the motor...There are dynos that are underground, above ground, all wheel drive or just 2 wheel drive...

you can do whatever you want with the graph, it's just so you can see how much hp/tq your car makes, it can be used to tune your car and see what your air/fuel mixtures are....alot of people do them before and after mods so that they can see how much they gained from them.... if i put a turbo/supercharger on my car, which i do want to do, i would do one just to see what my a/f and power level is at...
When you spend money to modify your car, and the makers of the mod claim the money you spend will buy Xhp, this machine tells you whether it did or not. If you have access to a dyno machine, get a baseline measurement before making any modifications to your z.
