5AT worth upgrading?
I broke a piston the next run after my 12.98 run . Engine build is on going now . Adding a 6MT LSD final drive , cams , and a return fuel system....smaller pulley in the spring .If it makes that much of a diff. I'll have no problems making 12.90 or better

My goal all along has been a 12sec N/A car. I know there was an easier way, but it has been a lot of fun so far and I do not regret any of it. The only mod I did not install myself was the cams. My 5AT car is a lot of fun to drive with low end TQ that breaks the tires loose without any brakes needed, when the cams hit you get a burst of power that was missing from the smooth stock acceleration and I have a sense of reliability that a lot of FI cars can not claim. Up until the 3.5FD I was still looking for that something more that my car was lacking. The FD made a big difference and if a 3.7FD was available I would be all over it. The 3.9 is just a little too much for the 1/4 mile racing but for the track it might be the ticket.

On the new 2005 GTO's the auto and the manual will have the same final gear so that they will be the same performance wise. I was reading up on it on the Pontiac website last nite. Thinking of getting rid of my car now and getting a 400hp GTO for $33,000. Can't beat that for Corvette performance in a family car.
Does anyone besides me remember seeing on the 11th or 12th of December a thread and post by: LEVELTEN ? It indicated that 5AT Valve Bodies were available. You paid a core charge. You could return your Valve Body for core reimbursement or keep you Valve Body.
Received a reply from Sam at Level 10: "The PTS HYDROSYSTEM $798.00 - refundable core charge $800.00 must be returned in 30 days. We need your vin and production date to complete the order. The tc need to be sent in to be upgraded - $498.00"
I can't see doing only the Valve Body. If you have to send them your TC for rebuild, why not send both at the same time and avoid the core charge? Your car is out-of-action while you are awaiting TC.

ok hold on you guys lost me the switch to track talk is where I got lost.
Let me get this right I can add the final drive out of a 6MT to my 5AT and not need the VB upgrade or TC? I didnt think the 6MT final drive would be a easy swap without the full pumkin?
