With the current performance mods (with Unichip currently), we pulled out 169.4 rwKW, which is around 230rwhp (aussie rwhp always tends to be lower than those seen in the States somehow).... we are hoping to get around 190 to 200 rwKW with those new mods.... fingers crossed! And if I am not satisfied with the outcome, I will then think about other alternatives later on, which will not be so soon!!!

Is the motec software easy to use? I'm looking to upgrade from the GReddy e-manage to a stand alone and I was looking at HKS and Motec, but I think I will go with Motec for one reason, which is the ability to tune. So if you please give us more information about the M600 (i.e. why not the m800) and does it come with a base fuel map... and so on
Thank you in advance
Az
PS: Could you please PM me the contact information of the tuner.

I got my parts from Apexi Sole Distributor in Australia.... he happens to be my friend and he has quite a lot of contacts in Japan, that's where I got all the parts from.... We were lucky because all the parts (besides S1 cams) were the last set remaining in Japan at that time, we only needed to wait for the production of S1 cams.... took us around 4 weeks or so to get those parts.
cheers,
richie

The engineer who is working on my car is like a father of GTR who is currently working for my friend... he was the head engineer from his racing team back in '90s which raced GTRs here in australia. He is the one who knows what he is doing... There is another alternative that I could go to, that's Simon at Nizpro (www.nizpro.com.au)... they are really good with Motec as well and know the Z very well, but it is just that they will not be available until March or so since they have a huge project undergoing at the moment.
I am not too sure if Motec M600 comes with the base map though... but I doubt so as Motec does not even supply the info on how to connect Drive-By-Wire and the Cam Control Module to Eric (the engineer who is working on my car). Eric needs to wire all the things up himself and also other companies who have done the same things do not want to share the information (since they spent days of work to get those working well together)... That's why it will be quite tough for people who do not know about Motec to do this job.
Also I did not go for M800 is because M600 is exactly the same as M800, the only difference is that M600 only supports 6 injectors and that's what I need.... I don't have a 8 cylinder car to run here and will not want to buy a 8 cylinder car in the future, so M600 is the best choice with its slightly cheaper in price. Hope that answered all your questions!
cheers,
richie

You are correct there.... I am still using stock ECU to control ABS and the rest of the standard non-engine management functions, otherwise it will be very time consuming to have all the functions in Motec...

richie

Sweeeeeet~!
So, with the upgraded rod bolts and HD valve springs but stock rods, where are you going to limit max RPM?
Can't wait to see a dyno with the VTC pulleys and an ECU tuned to dial them in.

I am not too sure about that myself whether or not my installer will share the 2 to 3 weeks of research hardwork with anyone though...
I am going to take the car to 7200rpm as suggested by Nismo (same on the Nismo S-Tune GT's VQ35S1 Engine)... nothing more I would say.... but I heard from Peter who races his 350z in australia saying that those bolts are tough enough to go slightly beyond that... The stock rods can take the stress without any problem according to Peter, so I will not worry too much about that at 7200rpm.
Hopefully we can get the engine out soon sometime this week and get all the things finished by 2nd week of Jan 2005.
cheers,
richie

Thanks...I understand the secrecy, but hoped someone would open the door for others.
Anyways, people run 7200rpm with the TS ECUs and stock rod bolts. I know at least one Maxima with ARP rod bolts that plans on a TS ECU with 7500rpm limiter. I'll keep you posted on how it lasts.
If the rods can handle more, then maybe cryo treat the bolts for more strength?
