My VQS1 (Almost) is on the way...
Hello everyone,
Just want to share some pictures with you guys about my current project... Was going for the FI modification (APS TT), but guess I will go for pure N/A at this stage and see how the car runs in the future...
The project has started last week and hopefully will get the car back 2 weeks after new year.... Motec is kinda hard to wire up with the OEM ECU, but the Drive-by-wire module has been done and they are doing the Cam control module now... after that, the engine should be out anytime for those Nismo S1 Engine internal parts... With Motec Drive By Wire (it isn't necessary to have this, but it is better to have this module to make the entire engine operation controlled by one ECU only), this will result not having the VDC connected to the car, but in exchange, I can opt for Motec traction control which can be customised to suit the driver's need.
Parts in this project consist of:
1. Nismo Spec 1 Camshaft: Int: 276 degrees, Exh: 256 degrees
2. Nismo VTC (55 degrees)
3. Nismo Connecting Rod Bolts
4. Nismo Valve Springs
5. Fujitsubo Headers
6. Motec M600 + Drive-by-wire Module + Cam Control Module
7. New spark plugs
Performance Parts already on the car:
1. Nismo cat back Exhaust
2. Crawford High-flow cats
3. Jun Flywheel
4. UR Light Weight Crank Pulley
5. K&N Filter
Will update you guys soon about the works!
cheers,
richie

Lover, how much is the motec with all the modules? Are you going to use the wideband O2 sensors? I'm very interested what sort of performance is achivable with the SPEC 1 cams and the Nismo VTC. What is the overall costs of this project including install?

nuff,
The motec m600 alone is around 3200 AUS without drive by wire and the cam control modules, if those modules are included, you are lookin at around 4200 aus mark without tuning and wiring up... the whole job is lookin at around 14K AUS or so... and about the wideband o2 sensors, I am not too sure about it, I have a really good engine/motec tuner working on the project at the moment, he will decide it for me. With the current performance mods (with Unichip currently), we pulled out 169.4 rwKW, which is around 230rwhp (aussie rwhp always tends to be lower than those seen in the States somehow).... we are hoping to get around 190 to 200 rwKW with those new mods.... fingers crossed! And if I am not satisfied with the outcome, I will then think about other alternatives later on, which will not be so soon!!!
cheers,
richie
