Default How Loud?!

I am going to be installing the following items:

Topspeed headers
Kinetix HF Cats
Gruppe-S Y-Pipe

Just wanted to know how loud my car will sound. A lot louder than stock? and which compoment produces the loudest sound?

On stock exhaust? The HF Cats would create the largest sound increase but it still would not be that loud.

The Kinetix HF cats almost make it sound like you have the Nismo exhaust, but not quite as loud.

Hehe, I have both. When I installed the cats (with stock exhaust) they increased the loudness a little, but it was quite minor to be honest. When I pulled up at my girlfriend's house after getting them installed, she said something sounded a bit different about my car, but not much.

The Nismo exhaust, on the other hand, is friggin' loud. (That's the scientific term, I believe.) The Nismo exhaust is much, much louder than anything those cats did. I'm probably going to remove it; that's how loud it is.

Nismo loud? I heard it was one of the quietest... That's strange. What do u plan on switching it for?

Yeah, I had read the same from everyone. That's why I got it. Doh! To be fair to all those folks that said it was the quietest: it might very well be! It could be that the Nismo, even though it's loud, is quieter than all the other options. My buddy's Borla on his G35C, though, is super quiet. Maybe it's just a G thing, though.

I'm just going to go back to stock, but get an aftermarket y-pipe. To be honest I like the stock sound, it's cool yet unobtrusive, and the stock y-pipe is said to really be the only problem with the oem exhaust.

you guys have to remember that noise and loud is a function of perception too - we all do not have the same ideas as to what exactly constitutes a loud exhaust.

Of all exhaust components, the muffler is what alters the sound the most.

I wouldn't think that running those mods on a stock exhaust would creat that much difference in sound. The headers and the high flow cats will make a difference, but the sound should still be deep and pretty low in comparison.
