Less weight = more power; Have you lightened your Z?
I hear you on that Bryan.
Seeing your pictures with the UltraShip Digital scale reminded me that I wanted to get one of these scales. It's great for weighing all kinds of stuff.

http://www.amazon.com/Ultraship-Elec...4646519&sr=8-1
I found them for only $18.49 at Amazon.com. Note that this is without the cable/power supply. The scale will run on batteries, but I bought the Power Supply from Amazon, too. It's like $8.49.
This is way cheaper than the sites in the previous link. I bought one (from Amazon) and it's the real thing. It works well.

Weighed in at 2824 lbs without driver. I was able to drop my weight 225 lbs from my last weigh in while adding a 12 point cage. Not too bad I guess considering the cage adds weight.

I pulled off one of my doors today and holy ****. even though it is nearly 100% stripped meaning outer shell and inner cover ONLY, it is Very heavey. 60 pound pall park.
If the C/f doors only weigh 9 pounds each, I think its worth it to shell out the loot. The doors are really the last thing i can think of to drop weight from the more forward area of the car.

How much are the doors? I just wrecked mine at VIR a week or two ago. the whole drivers side is trashed, and I was thinking about just putting a door skin back in its place ilo a whole door. so basically I'm out a fender, door, quaterpanel, and whatever else mechanical might be broken.

Bryan, none of the companies that we deal with offer carbon or fiberglass doors. Well none offer "reasonably priced" carbon doors; the Amuse Dry Carbon Doors are slightly north of $8,500
. I'm sure some here within this very thread have purchased carbon doors elsewhere and hopefully they can share their experiences with them for you.
Same with the fenders. The only company that we deal with that offers somewhat reasonably priced fenders is Ings (FRP). These are the fenders that I have for my own personal car but they are only 5mm wider. Let me know if that will fir the bill for you and I can send you pricing in the am.

If anyone has a bead on some of the "off brand" stuff drop me a PM.
I replaced the OEM spring buckets with Battleversion toe arms. We did weigh the items, but unfortunately I forgot the actual numbers. I will update as soon as I retrieve some numbers.
OEM aluminum spring bucket/toe arm 4.5 lbs per side
Battleversion aluminum toe arm 1 lb per side
Savings of 7 lbs total
OEM steel camber arm ~2.5 lbs per side
Battleversion aluminum camber arm 0.8 lbs per side
Savings of ~3.4 lbs
We forgot to weigh the stock coilovers vs. the Zeals... I guess they're pretty close though.
Don't forget the weight savings you can achieve by removing all the crap useless parts on the car like the gt spec bars

The cheap ones are sounding fairly promising. AS a track car it doesn't matter if seams are perfect, or if there is a mark or two on it, LOL. My car is on its 4th paint job and now needing its 5th.
