Pics of the installed battery

:

Here you see the bracket that Sunset made (I added the L-shaped backing brace).

At the bottom of the battery you see the small tray -- it is screwed directly to the stock tray.

My goal was to install the battery such that it was virtually impossible to budge. I track the car and the last thing I want is a battery sliding around. With these brackets -- the battery won't budge at all, in fact I was able to rock the car back forth as I cranked on the battery trying to see if it would come loose.

Mine came w/ posts -- but I think you can get them from gotbatteries.com or something like that.

The battery puts out 680 (thus PC680) cold cranking amps -- plenty to start the car. If you left the car undriven for 10 days or more, I would suspect the battery would be dead. This car is not my daily -- but it get's driven about 2-3 times a week. If I were leaving town long term -- I would just disconnect the battery. Eventually I will get a trickle charger do I don't have to worry about it. If you have a bling stereo or ICE -- this battery would not be for you.

I would not go smaller than the PC680. The 545 is only 4lbs lighter, and I don't think that is enough to justify that lower cranking amps.

Thumbs up

I've had my PC680 in the car for about 6 months with no problems. When I go out of town for 4 or more days, I usually disconnect the battery just to be safe. It's never let me down though.
