well hello there then!!! I met you at SE2002.

so you moving to the Z community now too? i didnt think there would be too many people on boards with that name. are you still importing stuff? i think i bought my headlights from you a long time ago...... well welcome... you will find that this community is a great one as well. (More like the mr2 community of 5-6 years ago, before it was overrun with kids)

so far the only difference in the piston is that (to me anyway) they look dished a bit for valve clearance. Now we're not sure why this is yet, because we are still waiting on the other parts to come in to do a comparison. they are no lighter really, at least to me. We'll pot more once everything comes in, but even we have to wait for parts, and it's frustrating cus we're real curious

can part numbers change because of the parts being made in a different manufactoring plant?

the part number shouldn't...... some parts are stamped with a different number or code depending on where they are made, which machine made them, batch number etc etc. but that is mostly for in case they have a recall or a bad batch. they can figure out where the part was made, when it was made.

the "official" part number should not change. that would be an absolutely logistical nightmare. every dealership would have to have 20 different numbers for one part.

so in short. the answer is no. the part numbers would not change.

yeah, part numbers change for various reasons, but usually it's because of a small variation on the part, for whatever reason.
It's really difficult to pinpoint one sole reason why a number may change....

jason and tony are right... sorry i forgot to mention that....

slight variations and changes in the said part will sometimes cause the number to change

any more info on the oil cooler parts? Some pics of it's location and mounting hardware? I can't find any info on your website. Also you mentioned an affordable Nismo cooler, any word on this?
Thanks in advance.

very interested in knowing how much more advanced the complete lower is. To be able to add that and a turbo and be much safer would get me moving in that direction much quicker. Hopefully the new short block needs no modification....

what else would you need to do?

thanks for all the info, keep it coming!!!!

I'd bet the oil pump is changed/beefier for the higher redline.
