A turkey call?! Curley? No Whoooooooooosh? I suppose you could replace the BOV with another.
Yeah I'd hope 425whp would be easily accomplished.

I'm still sitting on the fence between Vortech and T'netics.

Also, the numbers are good but not any better than the SC's but what is the potential with this kit? If you build the motor (or just crank it up a bit) what can you expect?
Actually I think its doing better. What is the average out of the box output of a Vortech or ATI? It thought it was in the 360 range? These ktis make around 380 out of the box. But thats besides the point. Your question was potential. The turbo is good to roughly 600 RWHP as is. the injectors will hold up to 9.5 PSI of boost before the duty cycle start approaching 100%. Turbonetics recommends no more then 9.5 PSI without bigger injectors. They are going to be offering 500 cc injectors and a flash to control them soon. It will be available as either an upgrade to current kits or as an out the door option on inital purchase. Furthermore I think Technosquare can flash for 750cc injectors so look for Turbonetics to offer those when they can. As for the turbo 600 RWHP is at 20 PSI. You could upgrade to a 62-1 physically the same size (different compressor wheel) and make closer to 700 RWHP at the same pressure level or a idea I have been kicking around with Brad is running a T66. It is not TOO much larger then the 60-1 and with some slight modification it may fit. With that turbo look for 800+ Of course you would need to be running like 1000 cc injectors and I would go to a standalone at that point.

Thanks. Out of the box power is pretty good. I figured the potential was there.

How is this tuned anyhow? What comes with it?

Turbonetics ECU reflash
One case of Turbonetics TS-1 synthetic oil
Replacement AC line (the one thats close to the turbo)
12 month/12,000 mile no fault no hassle warranty. If any part of the kit breaks it is covered with no quesitons. Even if it was your or your installers fault it is covered. No questions asked.

The turbo included in the kit should be able to support 500 to 550HP but in practical applications we have not seen this happen. There are similiar physically sized turbos from Turbonetics that will offer higher boost levels and more horsepower. With a built motor there is no reason 550 to 600 wheel cannot be reached, with proper tuning and fuel supply.

thanks for that Dyno!

So tuning is strictly by the ECU/reflash? No piggy back of any kind?

Exactly. No piggy back. It is all handled via the ECU reflash.

If you do decide to up the boost we can custom build you a program for your setup too.

I am a little concerned that the only tuning is by ECU reflash. I dont really want to have to send of the ECU everytime I do anything. At least with the Vortech ther eis the Split Second box to tweak the tune.

You actually wont have too. The ECU is cpapble of adjusting the timing for variances in airflow and environment. Perfect example here in Cali Turbonetics had a car do some dyno pulls with 91 oct in the tank. After 5-6 pulls the car was filled with 100 octane. After about 3-4 pulls the ECU started advancing the timing and the car ended up gaining another 10+ RWHP from it. And this was with the base Turbonetics reflash. That being said unless you are adding something major like cams the ECU should be able to handle whatever you throw at it.

The ECU reflash is a MUCH better option if you don't want to worry about tuning on a daily basis, trust me... That, and I've heard bad things about emanage and unichip piggyback setups from reputable sources.

The Raptor BoV sounds more like a WHOOOSH. No whistle. It's not TOO loud, but definitely sounds awesome from inside of the car. I wouldn't really know how loud it sounds outside, cause no one else drives my car. I'm going to have some vids up this weekend (hopefully) that show some runs. They will be posted in the FI forum, probably in a new thread.

One thing I noticed about the dyno was the low tq numbers. I dyno'd comparably low (hp wise), but for my first run I was still putting down 353ft-lbs of torque at peak. Though, your dyno does look to put out a little lower numbers than I'm used to, seeing as the stock Z only put down 216hp.

And last but not least I'd like to thank Dave for hooking us up with the Turbonetics deal. I'm extremely happy that this went through and I ended up with this kit. Thanks!

You had 6-7 people that didn't pay? Damn! There should be some kind of penalty for that.

I don't know. I was very surprised and dissapointed when it happened. I was about to jump on the APS ST bandwagon when Dave hooked up those who did pay. I'm glad it turned out the way it did.

Hah. I wish you were interested 2 months ago! Unfortunately the deal is done and closed. AAM is a Turbonetics dealer, maybe you should talk to Dave about buying the kit.
